On-draught at Beer Masons on Koh Tao, Thailand for 290 baht/pint.
Refreshing as hell, with a crisp light body and apt smoothness and wetness.
Tart smacky lactic taste. Hints of lactobacillus bacteria. Pils/pale malts and wheat. Well-balanced, though simple compared to the best expressions of the style (e.g. Anderson Valley).
Highly drinkable and we'll worth trying, though those after more sour and/or fruity examples of the style may be underwhelmed. Nice work from To Ol.

The colour is is cold gold; the liquid is hazy. The two finger head is white and compact. It sinks slowly leaving some lacing on the glass.
The smell is sour with smooth notes of wheat flour, minerals and floral hops.
The taste is light and tart, semi-smooth notes of dough, flowers and exotic fruits. Medium body. The aftertaste is creamy and quite light. Wheat sourness, some fruits and a touch of salt. The finish is semi-sweet.
The carbonation is fresh with many small short lived bubbles. The liquid is light and a bit harsh.
A balanced beer with interesting hints of hops. Sadly, it isn’t as sour or bitter as I had hoped for.

As the craft beer scene grows ever so sour, the task is to give beer lovers the sour taste that they crave, but in an affordable form. And it seems that the lacto-heavy Berlinerweiss style strikes just those chords.
Hazy straw but carrying a cloudy glimpse of gold, To Ol's LikeWeiss is a true to form northern German sour wheat ale as its tangy lemon, lime, grapefruit and musty burlap aromas entice the nose and its short sweetness, piquant sourness strikes the early palate with sourdough and warhead candy.
As the sweetness falls off of the palate, the middle taste comes alive with the bright, bracing acidity of lemon, lime, crabapple, under-ripened berry and white wine. Intensifying sourness comes in late with a light layer of brine, balsa and citrusy hops.
Hop bitterness accompanies the acidity as the light-bodied beer is extremely crisp, clean and palate stripping of thirst before a finish of citrus peel, fresh-cut grass and mineral brine closes the session with quick aftertaste.

330ml bottle - another clever and punny name, I see.
This beer pours a slightly hazy, pale golden yellow colour, with two fingers of puffy, foamy, and somewhat bubbly off-white head, which leaves some decent defrosting windshield pattern lace around the glass as it lazily sinks away.
It smells of biscuity and crackery wheat malt, lemon rind, some wet flintiness, sour muddled tropical fruit, an ephemeral lacto astringency, and some tame earthy, leafy, and dried-hay hoppiness. The taste is grainy and doughy pale and wheat malt, gently tart stone fruit, an increasing spoiled milk thing, more wet stone paths after a thunderstorm, a touch of earthy yeast, and some plain leafy, grassy, and musty hops.
The carbonation is fairly sturdy in its supportive and sometimes tickling frothiness, the body an adequate medium weight for the style, and actually more or less smooth. It finishes generally dry, the biscuity character of the malt aiding and abetting the lingering sour fruit and lactic notes.
Overall, Likeweisse is a very refreshing and easy to drink Berliner-style weissbier, as the souring is of the typically understated lacto (and maybe fruit) inoculation variety. Something to sip at all day on the waning summer patios, were that this was a locally made option (price-wise, that is).

Pours a murky golden-orange with a foamy beige head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Foamy swaths of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is slightly sour with wheat, grain, earth, grass, hay, and slight lemon juice aromas. Taste is much the same with slightly sour grain, lemon juice, earth, grass, and hay flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of acidity on the palate with each sip. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is an above average beer that is much more grain and grass forward than I was expecting for the style.
Serving type: bottle.

330 ml bottle into tulip glass, no bottle dating. Pours lightly hazy/cloudy golden orange color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and fluffy white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of lightly tart lemon, lime, grapefruit, peach, apricot, pineapple, mango, melon, strawberry, white wine, hay, herbal, grass, light pepper, wheat, cracker, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of citrus/tropical hops, fruity yeast, and light pale malt notes; with solid strength. Taste of lightly tart lemon, lime, grapefruit, orange zest, peach, apricot, pineapple, mango, melon, strawberry, white wine, hay, herbal, grass, light pepper, wheat, cracker, and yeast earthiness. Light lactic tartness and grassy/spicy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of tart lemon, lime, grapefruit, orange zest, peach, apricot, pineapple, mango, melon, strawberry, white wine, hay, herbal, grass, pepper, wheat, cracker, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/tropical hops, fruity yeast, and light pale malt flavors; with a great malt/tart/bitterness balance; and zero puckering/astringent flavors after the finish. Moderate dryness from tart/bitterness, increasing through the glass. Medium carbonation and very light body; with a very smooth, crisp, and fairly grainy/sticky/acidic balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 3.8%. Overall this is a very nice hoppy Berliner weisse. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/tropical hops, fruity yeast, and light pale malt flavors; very smooth, crisp, and refreshing to drink with the mild acidity. Not as lactic as I was hoping for the style, even if it was the brewers intent. This is still very flavorful and complex for the really low ABV. A very enjoyable offering.

Cloudy, soft yellow body; plenty of active carbonation; thick, fluffy, white head. Yeasty brett in the nose with lots of lemon and other citrus notes. Slightly tart, acidic and sour flavor; very lemony; mild yeast flavor in the background. Light bodied with a tart, dry finish.
Light and refreshing beer delivering a fully satisfying taste experience. It is perfect for a hot summer day. One of the better versions of this style I've encountered in a long, long time.

12oz bottle, poured into a To Øl teku. Enjoyed on 11.8.2015, reviewed from Tasting Journal.
The beer pours a nice pale gold color, light haze with a foamy finger of white head that has good retention and yields nice spots of lace. The aroma is nice, pale malt, tart wheat, lemon citrus, a bit lactic with some earthy and dirty character as well. Simple, but pleasant and inviting. The flavors mirror that, simple and light, with pale grain, lemon citrus, wildflower with lingering tart wheat, but not nearly as puckery as the nose led on. The mouthfeel is coating and creamy with a medium body and a gentle, soft finish.
Verdict: A nice Berliner Weissbier from To Øl. Not overly complicated, refreshing, bright, delicate and nicely balanced. Hard to go wrong with this one for anyone who likes the style.

unique and delicious take on the Berliner, characteristic of these guys both in its yeast complexion and its hop profile, I could guess who made it with one sip in a blind taste. its so them. looks the park, maybe a little more orange than yellow, the only real deviation from what you would expect visually. the nose and taste are great, light apple hints, brett in with the lacto to sour it, and not sharply acidic and hot like so many. rather its mellow in its yeast, more interesting than just the lacto souring, and without the sharpness. it comes on really late so you taste the white wheat and the juicy hops they use in it too, more layered than others. I love the low abv, and wish they would put this thing in a 30 pack of cans, id never stop drinking it. lemony and light, really fresh, with some white wine notes too, lots of fruity things happening, but its dry on the back end and the mild acid cleans it right up. hoppy for the style, but a cool varietal added late, and a ton of effervescent little bubbles. one of the better and more interesting berliners I have had.
