There are some sours that bring nice fruity notes and others that bring hoppy accents along with tart fruits. This however is just tart with a lemon or grapefruit pucker, nice dry hop floral accents and then earthy notes weaves in for a basic sour ale taste and feel. It just never really got going or did anything to stimulate my tastebuds and palate. Kind of bland overall.

Poured from bottle to glass, purchased in Reykjavik 10/11/2017

Look: Pours a hazy gold with limited white, almost champagne-like head.

Smell: Nose is limited even at room temperature, pine and citrus notes from the hops evident.

Taste: Surprisingly subtle and well-rounded for a sour. Citrus and vinegar sourness up front that end with a dry crispness on the back of the tongue. Minor hop bitterness near the finish.

Feel: Light body with moderate carbonation. Very crisp and refreshing to sip.

Overall: A solid sour (of which I'm not typically a fan) that avoids the pitfalls of its class while maintaining all the strengths.

Aroma is citrus, hops and mild sour/vinegar/milk. The flavor is tropical fruit, citrus, mild vinegar/milk, malts and a tart/bitter/slightly sour finish.

1 PT 0.9 FL OZ can
Served in a sour glass

This beer pours golden in color with an ever so slight haze. It is topped with several inches of off white head that leaves a little lacing.

It smells like fresh citrus fruit and is a little tart.

It has citrus and floral flavors with underlying green apple. The finish is dry and tart.

Medium and dry mouthfeel

This is a nice beer to finish off a 65 hour work week. It really hits the spot on a warm spring evening.

Poured from a chilled 341.
Good clarity. Nice straw coloration. Mild haze.
Muted citrus. Swirl generates great head but not many aromas coming off here.
Taste is watered down. Almost no sour to speak of.
Good carb. Very little after taste.
Overall- probably a great summer thirst quencher but not striking a chord this time of year.

A 330ml bottle with a best before date of 8th February 2018. Poured into a Lost Abbey teku glass.

Appearance: A hazy golden orange colour with a two finger white head that dissipated fairly quickly while leaving nice lacing.

Aroma: Sour, mango, passionfruit, white grape and grapefruit with some light funk and grass.

Taste: Sour white/green grapes with a touch of grapefruit and lemon. Reminds me of a sour version of those muscat gummy candies.

Mouthfeel: Light bodied with moderate to high spritzy carbonation.

Overall: Refreshing and easy to drink. I preferred this over the Sur Amarillo. I’m just a sucker for those muscat gummy candies.

Reviewed from notes. Poured from a 16.9 oz. can into a Cycle Brewing goblet.

A: Hazy gold, with a half-finger's worth of dense white head. Average visible carbonation, and the head has good retention.

S: Citrus hops and tangerine rind. I get a mix of Brettanomyces and Lactobacillus funky fruitiness. Some resinous pine, biscuit malts, and lactic tartness as well. Not a huge aroma overall, but appealing.

T: Lactic tartness and citric acid. Tangelo juicy citrus and grapefruit rind. Pineapple and tropical fruits that I'm not sure if are hop-derived or from Brett. Light cracker malts. Not much of the funk I got on the nose, but there’s a little dry earthiness near the swallow. It finishes with light bitterness, and a bit more tart acidity in the hang.

M: A light body, good carbonation sensation, and fairly low alcohol presence.

O: This was tasty - it may be partially my mood this evening, but I like this better than the other "Sur" varietals I’ve tried. Frankly, there isn’t a ton of the piney Simcoe character I expected, but if I ignore that it’s a nicely balanced tart-hoppy brew.

Pours a hazy dark orange. Pillowy white head dissipates leaving some sticky lacing and ring of foam along the outside of the beer.

Smell is earthy, with some grass floral notes. Has a bit of dish soapy aroma as well.

Taste is tart with a strong hoppy bitterness up front. Some grassy and floral notes come through with a lemon tart bitterness.

Feel has medium carbonation. Slightly tart in the mouth but not enough to pucker. Bone dry finish.

Overall a nice hoppy wild ale. Certainly a unique beer.
