Purchased on a recent trip to St. Louis. 13 printed on bottle cap. Poured from 12oz bottle into a tulip. A - Hazy orange with some brown highlights. Thick foam from the pour leaves patchy lacing. S - Citrus and piney hops mix with some sweet malt. An earthy presence. T - Piney hops predominate over citrus with a hint of sweet malts. Nicely balanced. High level carbonation. A good IPA

Reviewed from notes.

A. Pours semi-hazed light golden color into my tulip glass, fluffy two finger head that leaves really nice lacing for an IPA.
S. At first I get a bit of the caramel malt peeking through that gets covered up by a nice pine resin scent mixed with a heaping dose of floral hopping tones.
T. It certainly comes across as an American IPA feel. Juicy pine and grapefruit peel mixes with a caramel malt that finishes mostly dry with an extended citric / herbal Simcoe finish. Actually, I was hoping for something a little less by-the-books since it is a European idea of what an American IPA is, but they nailed it so well that it comes across as standard. So than the question becomes: Why bother with the extra cost of an imported beer if I can drink this domestically? I suppose if a person was in Europe, it would be worth trying this brew to experience what one of the better American IPAs taste like, so I won't mark it down on reviewing for that.
M. Crisp, light, refreshingly carbonated. Nothing wrong here.

330ml bottle. Shaker glass. Enjoyed @ Freiburg (Barcelona). Brass color, chill haze appearance. Off-white froth creates a creamy crown that leaves a rocky top & a wide ring on sides while dissipated. Aromas of gentle citrics & resins. Malty upfront, subtle funky & spicy touch. Medium body. Soft carbonation. Hints of chocolate in the middle rounded by citric notes & orange juice touch provides an astringent sensation. Sweet/bitter finish. Pineapple & resins arise on the aftertaste. ABV well masked is just shown as a kind heat into the finish.

Wow, I love big ipas but this has no balance. all bitter and no taste. Palate buster. If you like lagunitas beers, you will like this. Oily and resiny, what i envision drinking Pledge to be like. Will not be back again, should have stuck with Burton Baton and Hopslam.

what a treat this was to find on tap down at j. ryans in syracuse. listed as a mikkeller collaboration, this powerfully bitter ipa pours creamy hazy looking sunset to burnt orange in color, brightly glowing golden undertones, and two inches of fizzy white topping that last the whole pint. the nose is similar to say i beat you, invasion ipa, or green gold from mikkeller, and very similar to the final frontier from these guys. its like their interpretation of the american style has to have this nose. big and bitter as hell, resinious but not sweet like some of the west coast bombs. theres more yeast character than the american made ones i think, not quite belgian, but bright and spicy, hinting at a rye malt base. the only sweetness in nose or taste is a light floral honey essence that appears for just a brief moment in the finish. the flavor is bitter throughout, but like a rolling crescendo that climaxes in the finish, where a fat fistfull of IBUs dominate the palate. love the yeast and hops teamwork in this beer. the mouthfeel is nice too, brightly carbonated and aggressively bitter, which leaves the mouth clean and dry shortly after each sip. the body is right on medium, and the alcohol is not detectable at all. i could make an all night session of this, very complex hop bill, and overall a beer that really comes together well. i liked this nearly as much as the final frontier.

33cl bottle. Semi-hazy straw yellow pour with a medium height white head, visible sedimentation and carbonation. Notes of grassy hops, citrus hops, a bit of honey, lemon zest. Medium body, high carbonation and a bitter-sweet finish.
