Dense jet black, completely opaque. Billowing, cinnamon colored head with exceptional retention and foamy coating lacing. Big roasted espresso, peat and charcoal aroma. Aggressive roasted flavor with lots of espresso. Burnt brown sugar and molasses. Descent balance. Full body, dry finish. Low carbonation. Excellent.

Opaque black pour with a deep mocha head and great retention and lace. Huge iced coffee nose and even bigger milk chocolate flavour. Nice bitterness and dangerous drinkability. Excellent, rich, and tasty.

Served in a snifter glass right from the bottle.

Appearance: Thick bodied with a dark tan head rising to about two finger's length and it wasn't even a hard pour. Settles quick after a sip maybe eighth of an inch after the first sip.

Smell: Pure coffee actually take that back more on the espresso side coming off like fresh pure roast...makeshe nostrils tingle a bit.

Taste: Rich espresso and heavy heavy malts, light brown sugar notes are pretty evident. The bitterness is a bit of both, hops and the dark coffee with more doses of dark chocolate infusion.

Mouth: Not the thickest imperial but definitely well balanced and extremely sticky. The coffee is so strong the after taste just lingers on you cheeks.

Overall: Fantastic brew, has properties of a few other coffee imperial stouts that I've seen in the states but nice gem I found while visiting Iceland. Salud!

I'd say this one is hesitating between being an American imperial stout and a British one. It's not as much on the chocolate as most American stouts. It's more nutty and on the dark fruits, like a UK stout. Of course the coffee is there, but it's not overpowering. Very nice and balanced, to be drunk at around 10 to 15° no less than that or you'll lose the nuttiness. The oatmeal rounds this all up in a nice creamy mouthfeel. It's a bit too sweet though, I'd have wantedto be less rich to achieve perfect balance. This is its American side. It can feel like a coffee cup with too much sugar in it. A bit more coffe and dark fruits, less sugar, and it would have been a masterpierce.

Poured from the bottle into a snifter glass.

A decent small head, with a good dark tan collar that manages some good staying power. Thin puck, but a good black tan hole of head in the middle from rising carbonation. Classic, opaque and very dark walnut brown next to black color. Leopard style lacing while drinking.

Aroma is an excellent mix of the basics. Coffee warmth that accentuates a roasty sweet malt base. Roasted bean and dark grains that envelope the nose nicely. Small hints of nice little hazelnut and chewy sensing nut like quality also make an appearance on the nose. Very nice and with soft subtle qualities, sometimes less is more and this is a perfect example.

Palate manages the goods, and even a few more surprises than expected. Silky body, even a mix of thick coating oily mouthfeel which lets the flavors stick all through your teeth. Noticeably sweet easily, but not severely, and brings out much more diverse flavors. Coffee and almost sweetened condensed milk, but takes a big turn as dark roasted malts kick in. Nice bitterness, with some tobacco notes, and a fantastic anise and slow lingering soft black licorice quality that really coats the back of the throat.

This is a real impressive stout that takes some excessive deal of sweetness, but brings out far superior and unexpected flavors. Much of the coffee notes on the palate though are lost, but what is replaced ironically is far superior.

Pours black with a thick, foamy creme colored head that retains fairly well. A smattering of creme colored lacing is left behind after each sip. Dank, coffee, and roasted malts form an interesting aroma that feels a bit... out there. Still pleasant though. The coffee is nice. Dank and coffee notes on the front end of the palate, with a smooth, malty back layer. Great taste. Mouth feel is robust, filling, and mouth coating. A true pleasure to drink. Overall, a great imperial stout with coffee. The dank notes in the aroma and taste are a bit strange, but otherwise, a very solid beer.

Served in a 12oz snifter.

P: Dark browm, opaque, huge khaki head with fabulous lacing.
A: European hops (whatever that means) but it's reminiscent of those beers. Roasted malts and coffees..
T: Sweet, coffee, dark berries, hints of vanilla.
M: Syrup, spicey on the tongue, good carbonation, medium go full body, a little harsh.
O: I'm not sure how long this has been brewed but this is a pretty Good stout! Exquist..
