750 ml bottle poured into snifter.

Appearance: Pours a golden orangish tint. Rocky off-white head.

Aroma: Subtle hints of lemon and lemongrass and light aromas of funk. I can't get anything else because my nose is stopped up.

Taste & Mouthfeel: Very Earthy, wet, leathery, and a hint of tobacco. Starts and ends very dry with a spicy, hoppy kick at the finish. High, prickly carbonation that gives it a very crisp and clean mouthfeel.

Overall: Holy Magikarp! This is one of the finest beers I've ever had. I want more of this. This beer is re-fermented with Brett, which I don't get much taste-wise, but there's some in the aroma for sure.

Bottle share at Proof. Pours a hazy orangey gold. Good amount of whitish head and a good collar as well. Aroma is of toasty malt, some citrusy hops and really bready. Taste follows almost exactly, a touch more of the hop character than the nose. Low carbonation and medium body. Good brew.

(Served in a tulip glass)
A- This beer pours a murky caramel body with a sticky bubbly beige head that is supported by strands of microbubbles that trail up the glass.

S- The bright blend of hops herbalness and brett tartness has a fresh natural sweettarts aroma that takes on a floral finish. It is hard to stop sniffing this beer and start drinking it.

T- The green floral hops have a bright brett flavor that takes on a pleasant soapy quality with an earthy flavor to follow. That delicious pithy grapefruit brett flavor lingers after each sip.

M- The medium-light mouthfeel has a gentle fizz in the finish that compliments the brett character nicely.

O- This beer is bright and well balanced with hops and brett flavor that starts to grow into a nice musty funky quality and less grapefruit pith as it opens.

Pours dark amber with a large head.
Nose shows herbal hops, grassy hints, soft funk, bready malt, confectionery.
Heavier flavours, quite malty with bready and biscuity notes alongside some fruitcake and herbal and spicy hops.
Too much carbonation.

A: The beer is relatively clear light amber in color and has a light to moderate amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a two finger high light beige head that has very good retention properties and took a long time to die down and also left lots of lacing down the sides of the glass.
S: Light aromas of citrusy hops are present in the nose—oranges seem to stand out in particular along with some hints of grapefruit and herbs.
T: The taste is similar to the smell in that it has flavors of citrusy and herbal hops but there are also flavors of caramel malts, hints of Belgian yeast, a light amount of bitterness and faint bits of sourness from the brettanomyces.
M: It feels medium-bodied, dry and a little crisp on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This is an interesting beer of which the taste gains some complexities in flavors as it warms up. There is a good balance between the malts and hops that also makes it easy to drink.

Poured from 750 mL bottle into tulip.
A: Pours a slightly hazed orange-copper hue with high carbonation producing a 2-3 inch bubbly off-white head. Excellent retention. Nice sticky lacing too that lasts and lasts and lasts... (4.5)
S: A nice balance of bright melon and peach notes, pine and spicy citrus hops, and funky brett. Spicy Belgian yeast comes through as well. (4)
T: Hmmm...this is actually quite a bit different than the aroma. Pepper with spicy hops and yeast up front. Citrus rind, mint, and earthy and funky brett. Bitter hops dominate over the sour note...giving this more time for the brett to emerge would be advised. (3.5)
M: Medium body. Prickly carbonation tingle. Dry and moderately bitter throughout. (3.5)
D: Definitely an interesting brew and easily drinkable. Decently complex, but would give this at least 6 months to allow the brett to impart a stronger presence. (4)

9/30/13
Poured from 750 mL bottle into tulip.
A: See above. (4.5)
S: See above, perhaps less hops and Belgian yeast. (4)
T: Ah ha! Here we go...letting the brett work and allowing the hops to die down a bit did wonders for this brew. More in line with the aroma now. Peach and soft citrus notes, funky brett, melon, and still some spicy hops but much more balanced now. (4)
M: Medium body. Dry and semi-sweet. Very mild hop bitterness in the finish. (4)
D: Time in the cellar served this beer very well. Much more balanced now...and still extremely drinkable and refreshing. (4)

750ml bottle – thanks to Carlos for sharing this at the Freiburg- Copa flauta de Timmermans. Enjoyed on agt´12. Bright amber color. Foggy appearance. White froth creates an amazing copious & rocky crown. Moderate toasted malt aromas & sour notes from yeast. Crispy upfront made of flavors of toasted malts & hops in a synchronized dancing. Fruity palate. Light to medium body. Moderate but lively carbonation. Oily to watery texture. Fruity-ripe apple- & slightly bitter hints in the middle followed by increasing resiny hops that linger into the finish. Refreshing & flavorful.
