No reason to say, but Mine is bigger than yours!

(Served in a teku)
A- This beer pours a slightly hazy deep brown body with a thin bubblish light tan meniscus of foam. There is a gentle carbonation that pops to the surface.

S- The woody malt aroma has some white grape skin notes in the finish.

T- The spicy hops blend with a dry woody caramel flavor and a fruity grape note grows and takes on a slight gummi bear quality as it opens. The grape fruity flavor lingers on in the after taste.

M- The medium mouthfeel has a gentle alcohol warmth when it opens and a soft fizz prick

O- This is an interesting blend of malt and grapes and it balances both nicely. There is not a rich luscious barleywine flavor but nice flavor.

Slightly off/infected - sour cherry/vinegar undertone noticed immediately upon opening the bottle. Unclear of bottle date - think this is at least 6 years old. Disappointing! Ultimately poured it out, was not horrendous but those sour tones and an a dry and bitter finish made this an unpleasant experience overall.

Copper with a 1/4" tan head, which slowly fades. Moderate lacing. Suspended yeast particles.

Aroma of dates, raisins, figs, molasses, caramel.

Taste follows nose: dates, raisins, figs, molasses, caramel.

Full body, light carbonation. Sweet, sticky finish.

Docked some points for excessive yeast particles. Overall, it smells great and is pretty tasty.

Poured from fridge temp into a snifter. Pours a dark brown - almost reddish. Tan head slowly dissipates. Nose is toffee and resin. A bit of cotton candy. Taste is surprisingly sweet. A bit syrupy. I am not a huge fan. I think five years or so might do wonders for this beer. It doesn't come across as a barleywine to me at all. More of a sweet mess. Some toffee and tropical fruit - mango and papaya. Not much else comes through. Mouthfeel is syrupy and creamy. Overall, not at all close to the better barleywines out there, but not horrible.

Has a lot of punch on the nose, hops are on the front. Very thick, it fills the mouth and your nose too. Hops provide some illusion of refreshment. After this illusion, it is extremely sweet and creamy, I feel a lot of red fruits. The whole combination is like a forest.
Tasted in parallel to DeMolen's Bommen&Granaten, this is less malty but more interesting.
