Shared 330 ml bottle, thanks to Ole Anders. ABV is 8.1%, Hops are Galaxy, Centennial, Columbus, Cascade. Also includes lactose. Black colour, large to moderate tan head. Lovely aroma of said fruity hops, some mild roasty notes are only there in the background. The flavour has moderate roasty notes, soon overpowered by distinct resinous and grapefruity hops, with a bitter finish and aftertaste.

Totally black, with a light brown colored creamy foam.
In the smell roasted malt, light toasted, and then a loto of american hops, with citrus and resnous notes.
Some cocoa and hazelnut.
Full and round taste, malty. Light toasted, dark chocolate. Green notes of hop. And green nuts.
Quite full body, without being too much. A lot of dark chocolate in the aftertaste, followed by green hops and cocoa. Long.
Good, full, intense, gratifying.

Hmm, interesting. Definitely some roastiness going on. More of a brown ale taste than IPA. Would like a little more malt for an Imperial.

Pours deep dark brown with an overflowing light brown head. Beautiful! Strong earthy smell. Strong toasty taste, chocolate, rustic funk, and a bit of bitterness. Very flavorful!

Pours a black color. One inch head of a tan color. Great retention and great lacing. Smells of alcohol, wood, sweet malt, roasted malt, and piney hops. Fits the style of an American Black Ale. Mouth feel is sharp and crisp, with an average carbonation level. Tastes of alcohol, strong sweet malt, roasted malt, piney hops, earthy malt, hint of yeast, and wood. Overall, great appearance, good aroma, body, and blend, but the earthiness is unfavorable.

A tower of cappuccino foam over charcoal black. 4
Ash, orange oil, and touches of flowers + brown sugar. 4
Big char, some sour coffee, blackberries, then resin, spinach, and orange peel. 4
Cocoa end and endless bitter linger.
Oily, clingy, almost medium. 4
Galaxy, Centennial, Columbus, Cascade
Certainly has the eponymous black - not quite a porter, but tons of burn. Hops are a bit buried, too - can't say I get any light tropical notes from Galaxy (and Dec.2.*18* date suggest this is pretty fresh.) Story here is IBUs and roasty notes playing back and forth. Hefty, but not especially sophisticated. 4
