750 ml bottle into chalice; 10651509 code on the cap. Pours slightly hazy orange/amber color with 1 finger dense white head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of big lightly tart lemon, lime, apricot, peach, pear, green apple, white grape, red wine, oak, pepper, honey, and bread; with light vanilla, hay, straw, herbal, grass, leathery funk, and yeast/oak earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast, wine barrel, and moderate bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big lightly tart lemon, lime, apricot, peach, pear, green apple, white grape, red wine, oak, pepper, honey, and bread; with light vanilla, hay, straw, herbal, grass, leathery funk, and yeast/oak earthiness. Light-moderate peppery yeast and tannic wine/oak spiciness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon, lime, apricot, peach, pear, green apple, white grape, red wine, oak, pepper, honey, bread, vanilla, hay, leathery funk, and yeast/oak earthiness on the finish for a while. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, wine barrel, and moderate bready malt flavors; with a great malt/spiciness balance, and zero cloying sweetness after the finish. Light-moderate dryness from spicy yeast/oak tannins, increasing through the glass. Medium-high carbonation and medium-plus body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready/grainy/tannic, and slightly acidic balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden; a slight warmth lingering after the finish, with zero barrel booziness. Overall this is a great wine barrel aged Brett Tripel. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, wine barrel, and moderate bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink for the ABV. A bit heaver than I expected for the style, but not overly sweet. Great presence of the wine barrel; with a nice level of funky Brett complexity, and adequate dryness. A very enjoyable offering.

A: poured into a snifter to a deep orange with some gold highlights topped by a dense three finger white head that retains well and leaves decent lacing
S: Smells of honey and melons with some grassy notes and a little orchard fruit
T: Taste is tartness nad some oak up front with some melons and stone fruits, clean doughy malt along with some added sour notes. Swallow is some funk and hints of band ait with some lingering sourness and orchard fruits
M: This beer is on the heavier side of medium in body with soft but adequate carbonation and a dry finish from the acidity.
O: Overall this is an interesting beer. It's an odd take on a tripel but I kind of like it since sour beers are kind of my thing. The base beer is definitely a tripel but this one has more than just that going on. If you like sour beers this is one to try but don't expect your standard tripel.

I got the black-and-white "scrap metal" label on a 750ml bottle for the US market (you're not supposed to show hamburgers on the label in US unless there are hamburgers in the beer!). Pours an attractive amber gold, slightly cloudy. Attractive. Head is 3 fingers and rather slowly dissipates, ending up with a foam island in the middle and sloppy lacing.

Aroma is lemon, a boozy wine tinge as well. Ever so slight spice as expected for a tripel but not very strong.

Taste is spicey, and also hoppy to me. I get bread and yeast, and also the wood from the wine barrel, very mellow and the gesture towards farmhouse/ tripel is muted. Can't quite put my finger on the spice; user BlurryVisi0n says rye with salt on top, by god he's got it. I sorta wish it wasn't salt. It finishes with a bitter buttery feel. Not bad Belgian style ale.

As it warms the wine barrel characteristics really start to come out. Feels boozier too. Like but not love, and at the price point I'd have to pass the next time.

Served in a snifter glass from the tap.

Appearance: Amber body which has a little paleness to it and comes off a bit cloudy. Head is about one finger's length wit a vigorous pour and dropped before the first sip. No lacing but he beer looks pretty good.

Smell: Lemon and hints of wine. Super light scent, just an FYI.

Taste: Sweet lemons with dose of light yeast. Grapes and little honey.

Mouth: Sour finish kinda messes with your palates a little bit. Has lemon skin and juices and feels a bit bready...think of the a bite of rye bread with a little salt on top.

Overall: Descent brew but wouldn't hunt the world for it. I picked it up on tap with just wanting to try something a little different.

Quite a nice beer, overall. The flavor contribution from barrel aging works very well, but does distract from the Belgian characteristics.

Pours hazy with an orange-copper-gold hue. Moderate to low head that persists. Aroma of Belgian yeast and phenols with underlying spice. The flavors are dominated by red wine, but are nicely supported by the phenol contribution from yeast and slight tartness along with lasting citrus. Mouthfeel is medium to light with medium carbonation.

The range and complexity of flavors are really nicely pulled together. It's very different for the style, and perhaps overlaps a great deal with saison flavors. Then again, the barrel aging sets it apart regardless. Style guidelines aside, a very nice beer.

Slightly hazy golden color with a small white head. Aroma has a predominant yeast character and some lemony notes. Taste starts slightly sweet, with nice yeast esters, floral and fruity. Also some subtle farmhouse notes. Smooth body with medium carbonation. Really nice on. Usually I don't enjoy tripels very much but this one stands out.
