On tap at Hops and Pie. Dark black color, decent head at first, looks just fine. Aroma is muted. slight bit of chocolate. The flavor was bad, burnt meat, bitter, ashy, hardly any chocolate. This was a pretty bad stout, disappointing to say the least. I would never buy this beer nor order another on tap.

Taste horrible - smoked flavor over done. Not suble at all, perhaps chochlate has fallen off?

01/28/14 From bottle at home. Texture is full bodied but a thin dark head. Sparse speckled lacing. Dense smoke aroma but mellow on the taste buds. Not as chocolate as I'd hoped. A bit of a disappointment.

2013 bottle, opened Jan 2015

A - Deep bowling ball black. Creamy milk chocolate head pours half a finger high with ok rendition and lace.

S - Hazelnuts, hammy smoke, touch of a plastic off-note, brown sugar, dry wood, chestnuts.

T - Smokey. Brown breads, burnt wood chips, liquid smoke, chestnuts, hazelnuts.

M - Medium-light body. Creamy finish.

O - A little too much ham in the smoke, but overall not a bad stout.

Got a growler at the TriBeCa whole foods. They listed this at 8% strong. Pours with a deep brown head that doesn't last for very long. Not much in the way of scent. Flavors are deep and smoky. Nothing is very over the top or stunning about the beer but I'm enjoying my glass. 85% cocoa chocolate bar, not a prissy milk chocolate. Mouthfeel is a touch thin. Lingering bitterness on the palate. A bit of a smooth, creamy feel pulses between the bitterness; reminds me of some milk stouts in that way.
My first crack at an Evil Twin brew. I look forward to more.

Built around the masculine and tantilizing combination of smoky chocolate, Evil Twin's larger-than-life stout puts its full brunt of roast character on full display.

Even More Denmark, showcases deep and dark chocolate that''s carefully woven into its onyx-black body. Dense, creamy and stained with char, its sturdy lather pushes bold notes of espresso, campfire, cocoa, roasted chestnut and burnt cream out of the glass while its singed toffee and marshmallow layer decadently on the mouth.

With the sweetness thrusted downwards and the roast held high, the middle palate heavily favors the darker side of the stout. Strong roast coffee links with bitter cocoa, smoldering ember, pepper and burnt grain for a fast drying taste that's as challenging to the palate as it is satisfying.

And as the flavors finish, its lacking malt sweetness leaves the palate ashy, powdery and with high roast grain astringency. Pepper and burnt flavors accompany strong booze deep and linger well into aftertaste.
