A: Poured into a snifter to a deep black beer topped by a finger and a half of dense tan head that fades quickly to a collar around the edge of the glass
S: Smells of sweet chocolate cereal, peppery heat, cinnamon, and some slightly sweet chocolate covered espresso beans
T: Taste is slight cinnamon up front with some peppery heat, chocolate, and coffee coming in on the back end. Really nice roasted malt presence provides more flavor than just the adjuncts. Swallow is more heat and cinnamon with some lingering coffee, chocolate and roasted malts.
M: This beer has a full mouthfeel with a soft and silky texture on the palate. The level of carbonation is adequate and sits just below prickly while the beer has a slightly drying finish.
O: Overall this beer is really well made. Evil Twin is always a safe bet in my mind and this beer is no exception. It has some really nice flavors and complexity with everything in a really good balance. The heat is also reasonable as well. It builds slowly and you know it is there but it does not assault the palate or keep the other flavors from coming through. Definitely one to try if you like your stouts with a nice balance between sweet and heat.

Bottle from Tavour. Starts out unassuming, black, flat pour, roasty aroma with some savory notes. Taste picks up with a nice blend of Mexican chocolate, cinnamon, and chilies. Hints of coffee too. Smooth and slick, kind of spicy. Great as expected.

11.2oz undated bottle purchased on closeout for $1.50, 12% ABV. Not sure how long or in what conditions this bottle was stored. Don't remember seeing these at this store before. The beer pours inky, thick black with zero light penetration and no real head. I have a few big bubbles clinging to the side of the glass after a hard pour. The aroma is lightly sweet and slightly vegetable. Roasted malts, cocoa and hints of pepper. The taste is roasty and semisweet with the cinnamon and peppers providing subtle heat and spice. Minimal bitterness. The mouthfeel is full bodied with low carbonation and a mostly dry finish. No hint of the ABV in the taste or aroma. Overall, good. I'm assuming this bottle is 2 or 3 years old looking at when the reviews started and it's held up well for having coffee beans and peppers added. There's no discernable coffee or pepper flavor, but at least it hasn't manifested itself as rotten vegetables.

Compared to the base, this predictably has suffered a bit more with age. Black pour, brown foam. Smells slightly general spicy, some soy. Nice thickness, bit of chilli heat. Spicy from an aged mix of cinnamon, chilli and coffee. Not bad, but unbalanced.

Excellent head production; decent retention, as well. Minimal lacing.
Very roasty, RIS-inspired nose, featuring char and red grapes along with a serious spate of flavorings - coffee, cinnamon, and coffee most noticeable. Vanilla, peppers, and chocolate are noticeable, but you have to hunt for it a little bit more.
Exactly how this beer should come across on the palate: bitter, vegetal, roasty, and not particularly sweet. Pepper flavor is surprisingly noticeable, while cinnamon is less pronounced than on the nose (thankfully). Cacao and coffee add to the dark bitterness, while the cacao and vanilla add minimally to the sweetness. Not any particular heat from the peppers, which may have faded with age, but the flavor is very noticeable.
Surprisingly a touch thin on the palate; big and bold, very drinkable, but a touch watery. Nice touch of boozy heat to announce the double digit ABV.
I think most BAs are looking for something much sweeter in their flavored imperial stouts, and that's understandable. This one is not, so you've got to know what you're getting into - but I find that is absolutely in line with the Even More Jesus-based beers. It's consistently more roasty and less sweet, with more of an RIS presentation and heavy emphasis on coffee tones. Despite the long list of added flavorings, this isn't remotely a pastry stout.

Solid black appearance. Light carbonation with what feels like a slightly thin body. A little slick oily feel.
Aroma is black coffee, dark chocolate, some pepper and mocha candy in the background.
Taste is mild heat, pepper, black coffee, alcohol, some hot pepper heat on the aftertaste.
Overall it was really good, body was a little thin. The heat was at a perfect level, added to the overall taste without dominating. As usual you can't go wrong with eviltwin and this was really good.

Standard dark appearance, tannish edges, no lacing. Smell is strong in cinnamon and pepper spiciness, underlying chocolate, minimal coffee. Coffee and chocolate are on the forefront of the taste, roasty, bittersweet, hints of pepper on the back end. Medium body, not thick, not oily, definite booziness. Well balanced, pretty good.
