Brewed by:

Style: American IPA

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 7.00%

Availability: Limited (brewed once)

Notes / Commercial Description:
A refreshing drink often associated with childhood nostalgia to others a pop-cultural symbol of emancipation. Whatever the association we teamed up with good old Swedes, Henok and Karl of the fashionable Omnipollo to squeeze out a tasty, tempting and deceivingly well balanced IPA with sweet and sour notes of old-fashioned memories. Perhaps you can taste the dishonesty, it's all over your breath -it's Lemonade.

Should be able to crush this on a hot summer day, batch 003, no date

Pours a light frothy fizzy almost 1 finger head that fades at a med pace, a little spotty lacing, super murky lemon-yellow-orange color

Nose a lot of lemonade, but more like Country Time lemonade not freshly squeeze lemons, a little fruity citrus hoppy aroma, leafy, a hint of sweet malt, maybe a little fresh lemon

Taste comes on quite tart, fresh lemonade mixed with country time fake lemonade, sweet sugar, like straight up sugar, a touch of malt if any, dried malt extract and raw sugar flavors, mild bitterness lemon rind, tart lemon juice, flemmy acidic finish, a little bitterness, no hop.

Mouth is med to lighter bod, decent fizzy carb.

Overall meh, yeah there are lemons, but no base beer really, not even close to an IPA, very little malt only sugar, lemon peel and juice but no hops or bitterness really, a flemmy acidic finish not something an IPA should have. Enjoyable and drinkable sure, IPA not even close, calling this a beer at all (other than a shandee) not really.

Pours... well like orange juice, with a bit of soft foam.

Smell is very citric, lemon and orange sorbet.

Taste is very, very refreshing, with a huge lime sorbet kind of taste, layered with orange and lemon. Some very faint bitterness, but a rind bitter, not hops.

Mouthfeel is soft and creamy, a bit like melted ice cream.

Overall, I think the IPA is a bit of a misnomer. This drinks more like a Berliner Weisse with a hint of bitterness, than an IPA with lemon. Very good and refreshing for what it is, but IPA? No.

A: Pours a very hazy pale to medium yellow in color with moderate amounts of active visible carbonation rising from the bottom of the glass and moderate pale golden yellow colored highlights. The beer has a two finger tall sudsy white head that reduces to a large patch of thin film covering the entire surface of the beer and a thin ring at the edges of the glass. Moderate amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Moderate aromas of slightly sweet, slightly tart lemon citrus with a light aroma of floral hops and biscuit malts.

T: Upfront there are light flavors of biscuit malts. That is followed by slightly stronger than moderate flavors of slightly sweet, slightly tart lemon citrus. Finally there is a light to moderate flavor of floral + citrus/lemon zest hops which impart a hint of bitterness but leaving a lingering tart lemon flavor.

M: Light to medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Initially slightly crisp.

O: Easy to drink, refreshing, and enjoyable - perfect for a hot summer day when you can't decide if you want a beer or a lemonade.

Now this actually DOES look like OJ. And hazy lemonade. The head is tightly knit with furry bubbles surrounding it.

Aromas of lemonade, grapefruit, sour patch kids, and orange juice.

The flavor is lemonheads candy, sour gummi worm, lime juice, orange juice, and grapefruit pith. It flirts with the shandy side of things but never crosses over. Some light lemongrass fades out.

Feel is great. It's got the density and pulp of orange juice but still remains light, and actually retains some resins. Nice resiny finish.

Overall, this is a super great quencher worth checking out. If it comes my way again I'll be happy.

Picked up a 4 pack of this at Julio's for $14.99. Batch #003 per the bottom of the can.

A - Poured into my Duvel tulip a super dark murky yellow with a thin half finger white head that faded to leave light wisps and a thin halo.

S - Aromas of, well, lemonade. Big lemon notes, both the citrusy juice/peel as well as sour lemon candies. Just a little bit of malt sweetness. Some light hops as well, citrus and grassy. Smells more like a hopped lemonade than a lemony IPA. Not that there's anything wrong with that...

T - Taste is similar to the nose. Tart, lightly bitter lemon juice along with a little sugary sweetness. Tart, sour lemon candies with enough hops coming through to make this still taste like an IPA.

M - Mouthfeel is very lightly carbonated, very faint crispness. With how sugary this feels it could certainly use some more 'zip'.

O - Overall, this wasn't a bad beer for what it is. Gimmicky, sure, but at least a solid job delivering what it promised. Pretty much a hoppy radler with much more amped up lemon qualities.

i have criticized omnipollo for being far too liberal in calling beer "ipa" in the past, and i will stand by and even double down on that sentiment here. this is a far cry from anything a reasonably educated consumer would consider to be an india pale ale, the hops and the bitterness just arent there, and its far too flavored to really fit that mold. its misleading, and its a little frustrating, but, at the same time, i dont want this beer to be any more hoppy than it already is, and in fact, more flavor is the last thing this beer needs. for me though, its refreshing, but its too strong for that, and it really straight up tastes like country time lemonade powder was just dumped into a pale ale. it has a real artificial lemon aspect, and even the color and shade look like an overmixed glass of that stuff we grew up on. the dusty powder that swirls around when you open the lid is exactly what i smell and taste in this beer. usually i like evil twin for pushing the limits but not hitting the gimmick level. the al pastor beer comes to mind, along with countless others, but this is past that point, and feels cheap and forced to me. a step back for them with their flavored stuff in my opinion. tangy and tart at the same time, lemony but not real, and not at all hoppy for something dubbed "ipa". good and interesting, but i am glad i went with one can instead of the (very expensive) four pack. as much as i didnt like this very much, i am definitely still going to try the pink lemonade version...

Decent beer. Way better than a shandy, but couldn't help think shandy the entire time while drinking it.
It did have nice sweet and sour notes with some glorious hops mixed in. Very drinkable. Would be a smashing summer beer.

Extremely hazy, murky bright yellow color with some yellowish foam. Aroma is really fruity, citrusy mostly, like orange juice and tangerines but also a hint of banana. The hops are also present in the background. Taste is sweetish tart at first with lemon flavor, gets more astringent towards the finish, also quite dry on the aftertaste. There is also a weird dirty rag note throughout. Heavy body, soft carbonation. An interesting beer but it has some flaws and the flavors are not that well integrated.

12oz can poured into a teku

A- pours a hazy pale yellow color with a small foamy white head that disappears quickly

S- smells like hoppy lemonade

T- tart lemon up front, followed by citrusy hop notes, the finish is fry with more tart lemon and a linger of citrusy hops

M- medium body with moderate carbonation leads to a foamy mouthfeel and a crisp dry finish

O- nice summer beer with high drinkability

Poured from a 12oz can into a speiglau IPA glass.

Look is a light hazy straw with a thick white head.

Aroma almost exactly mirrors sour/sugar sweet lemonade.

It tastes like lemonade too, although maybe a flat malty lemonade.

Pretty much a radler, just made with an ipa instead of a blonde. Too odd to really enjoy
