Ok, an "IPA" that has a bunch of fruit added...

There is a nice underlying grapefruit pithy bitterness, but the added fruit juices play the main role up front, and lay atop the bitterness in a conflicting battle for my palate. The opening notes of berry has a little tartness from the passion fruit. There's a fairly sweet aspect as well, and at this point, it's a nice, juicy fruit beer. The feel is medium full, and somewhat smooth.

The grapefruit, specifically the more bitter rind, come in mid-taste and before the end, there is even a little minty evergreen note. This is where the battle sort of turns my enjoyment down a notch (from a decent fruit beer to a mix that doesn't work so well). So overall, given the ingredients they tried to throw atop an IPA style, it's not too bad. Even with the mix I don't like, I could work through it easily enough. In the end, though, to me it's more of a fruit beer (with a bitter component) than an IPA with some fruit added.

Tasted in a Spiegelau IPA glass from a 12 fl oz can on June 15, 2018. IPA brewed with grapefruit passion fruit, mango, raspberry and blueberry. Recommended if you like this style.

L: good lacing, reddish orange color, white head
S: tons of fruit
T: raspberry for sure, some mango, don’t get a lot of hops
F: good mouthfeel, sweet/tart finish
O: if they were going for a fruity IPA, they nailed it

Looks like pink lemonade, light head and no lacing. Aroma is full of grapefruit, orange and sweet hard candy. Taste is very sweet with touches of grapefruit, jolly ranchers and other assorted overripe fruit. Good and refreshing with a sweet grapefruit feel at the end

this actually looks enticing!
4.25 in taste is due to the 'rainbow' of flavors.... it is sweet like an ice cream sicle.....
it is what it is.... a novelty. a Zima. a Seagrams. it's actually pretty good!

12 ounce can into tulip glass; no can dating, but is a recent release. Pours moderately hazy reddish orange, light pink/purple color with a small fairly dense light pink head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of huge juicy/light tart/tangy raspberries, passion fruit, blueberry, fruit skin, mango, melon, strawberry, papaya, grapefruit, orange, citrus peel/zest, light pepper/pine, wheat, cracker, white bread, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of fruits, citrus/tropical hops, and moderate bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big juicy/light tart/tangy raspberries, passion fruit, blueberry, fruit skin, mango, melon, strawberry, papaya, grapefruit, orange, citrus peel/zest, light pepper/pine, wheat, cracker, white bread, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Light pine, citrus peel, herbal, grassy, peppery bitterness; and fruit tang/tartness on the finish. Lingering notes of tart/tangy raspberries, passion fruit, blueberry, fruit skin, mango, melon, strawberry, papaya, grapefruit, orange, citrus peel/zest, light pepper/pine, wheat, cracker, white bread, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of fruits, citrus/tropical/earthy hops, and moderate bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness and fruit tartness balance; with zero astringent hop/fruit flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering bitter/tartness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately bready/grainy, fairly sticky, and lightly acidic/resinous mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol for 7%. Overall this is an awesome fruited IPA. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruits, citrus/tropical/earthy hops, and moderate bready malt flavors; very smooth and refreshing to drink with the mellowly bitter/drying finish, never aggressive. Awesome balance of jammy fruit and juicy/dank hop complexity; nice bready malt backbone, and mild lingering sweetness. A really enjoyable offering. Best of the "-ade" IPA series so far.

This is fantastic! No lactose or vanilla necessary. It’s hoppy and fruity, but soft and low bitterness. I would say this is venturing more into being a fruited ale than in the class of an IPA, but it works. Intensely crushable. Perfectly balanced. My one small flaw in this beer is the ever so slight astringency/windex taste on the tip the tongue and lips. Is this a PH issue or an astringency issue due to oversparging or hopping rates/timing?? It’s an A beer for me.

As New Evil Twin Beer Sunday (Week 692) CANtiniues, I am beginning to delve back into IPAs after a short departure.

From the CAN: "A refreshing drink when associated with childhood nostalgia to others a pop cultural symbol of female emancipation. Whatever the association, we teamed up with two Swedes, Henok and Karl of Omnipollo to squeeze out a tasty, tempting and deceivingly well balanced IPA with sweet and sour notes of old-fashioned memories."; "India Pale Ale with Grapefruit, Passion Fruit, Mango, Raspberry and Blueberry added".

I Crack!ed open the vent & having no idea of what to expect, began a slow, gentle Glug. My jaw dropped when I saw that it was both a reddish violet color & cloudy to boot! I let the rest free-flow into the glass, forming just over a finger of dense, rocky, foamy, pinkish head that looked like fresh-spun cotton candy. Wow! Color was a cloudy Reddish-Violet (SRM = N/A). Nose smelled like fruit salad, especially of grapefruit and mango/passion fruit (very tropical). Hmm. Mouthfeel was medium. The taste was bitter with the grapefruit leading the charge, but the raspberry and blueberry lent it a piquant tartness as the tropical fruits brought up the rear. It was definitely very fruity, which is not what is expected in this style, but the grapefruit made it plenty bitter, which is in keeping with the style. Finish was dry and refreshing, but I did not feel like I had just drank an AIPA. Gotta rate to style, not to taste. Sorry.
