Delicious. From the can at nyc craft beer fest. Pours a dark purple fruit color with short head. Smell is purple berry fruit with hoppy character. Great balance, sour ale taste, sooo quaffable. Great brew!!!

fruit salad ipa here, i cant believe i bought another beer in this series after that coffee one, oh my gosh that was bad! alas though, i am a sucker for evil twin, and the curiosity gets me more often than not with them, i just dont want to miss any of the crazy experiments they try, and they cant all be good. i know this has been out a little while now, which probably is responsible for some of its messiness here, more decomposed than unrefined, past its prime. the pour is a deep pink color but there are an absurd amount of floaties, big pieces that stay in suspension. they probably werent there when this was brand new, but it isnt anymore, and its gross. the shade is also kind of muted and murky, not visually very nice even though the color is cool from all the fruit. i get blueberry and raspberry tannins and tartness above the other fruits, especially with the hops seemingly faded a bit, some grapefruit acidity is there too, this almost has a lactic thing going on. all the fruits sort of melt into each other, a little mosaic cat pee thing here too, and a strange and sludgy texture. i mean, maybe i am being too negative, but this doesnt do a whole lot for me. who in their right mind would call this an ipa? no matter how much it may have faded, its not that old, and this is nothing of the sort. this series was a let down, but this one i didnt get in its best light...

With a kaleidoscope of flavor the brewers of Omnipollo and Evil Twin take their collaborative efforts two steps further. The acclaim of their lemonade IPA has them now adding generous portions of grapefruit, passion fruit, mango, raspberry and blueberry to the mix for a full and fruity bitter beer.

Rusty mauve to the eye, a foamy off white head build onto the beer and entices the nose with a full fruit punch character. Leading with raspberry, a berry mix with wine couples with a gently tart scent for a strong sangria impression. Sweet to taste, the early palate is laden with fruit juiciness, light honey and a mild cobbler-like maltiness.

A gradual change across the middle palate leads to the malt sweetness and breadiness to slowly retract and for the fruit flavors to garner strength. Without the bulk of sweetness, the true radiant character of fruit carries the hierarchy of raspberry and blueberry first with the gooseberry and grapefruit having a balancing influence with their tart and bitter fusion. Trending bittersweet on the late palate, the beer can't help but to seem wine cooler-ish, but in a good way.

Medium bodied throughout, the beer's robust fruit character and bolder fructose linger has the flavors seeming fuller. But its fruit acids and bitter hop resins lightens the body considerably in finish. Bitterness eventually wins out with a medium long grip on the throat laced with the spicy warmth of vodka.

12oz can - made with the specified fruit, yes, but what the hell are they talking about in the marketing blurb?

This beer pours a murky, medium salmon amber colour, with a teeming tower of puffy, finely foamy, and mildly creamy pale pink head, which leaves some sudsy gear chain lace around the glass as it slowly sinks out of sight.

It smells initially of warm fruit salad, until the raspberry and mixed tropical esters emerge from the scrum, and very little else. The taste is gritty and grainy cereal malt, a still muddled exotic fruitiness, raspberry, grapefruit, and blueberry juice, and some some hard to pinpoint earthy, leafy, and piney green hoppiness.

The carbonation is fairly laid-back in its insouciant-seeming frothiness, the body a decent middleweight, and generally smooth, with the acerbity of the different fruits causing a very minor chink in the metaphorical armour here. It finishes off-dry, the malt still awash in a now mostly citrusy fruitiness.

Overall - while this is certainly flavourful and refreshing, it also loses almost all of its beer-ness, for lack of a better word. And with a small booze warming as things proceed, I'm much more reminded of a frooty mixed drink than an IPA. Ah well, it's sunny and warm outside, so who am I to complain?

Very refreshing, easy-to-drink, flavorful IPA that actually reminded me a little of a mildly tart sour. Hazy orange-amber color with a little lingering head and spotty lacing. Smells of loads of fruit - passionfruit, orange, tangerine, lemon, grapefruit, mango, blueberry, raspberry. Tastes similarly, along with some piney and herbal hops, vanilla, caramel and a big punch of malt. Definitely more sweet and tart than the usual IPA, but not overly imbalanced. Nice clean mild mouthfeel, good carbonation. I would compare it more to the Odd Side Ales' series of fruity ales.

Looks like pink lemonade, light head and no lacing. Aroma is full of grapefruit, orange and sweet hard candy. Taste is very sweet with touches of grapefruit, jolly ranchers and other assorted overripe fruit. Good and refreshing with a sweet grapefruit feel at the end

Pours a reddish orange, very murky, with some fine foam.

Smell is fruit salad, basically, with raspberries, blueberries and passionfruit being the main culprits.

Taste keeps the fruit theme going, with a slighttartness and just a conference of fruits and berries like raspberries, blueberries, passionfruit and mango crowding your palate. There is also a slight whiff of bitterness in there, but it ain't powerful...

Mouthfeeel is medium, well carbonated.

Overall. Well, this really is not an IPA, and anyone buying this as an IPA will be at least mildly confused. What it is though is a very tasty fruit beer, and in that context, it's excellent, with good balance of tartness and sweetness.

-IPA brewed with grapefruit, passion fruit, mango, raspberry, and blueberry.

A: A dense and rustic-pink grapefruit colored pour is dense and juicy in the vessel. Looks like pulpy breakfast juice, particularly pink grapefruit juice. A quickly diminishing head doesn't last long enough to get a description.

S: Sweet and sugary peaches and mangoes open the nose, with a burst of fruity juices along with fresh grapefruit. A nice backing of fresh berries, particularly the blueberries, certainly do not go unnoticed with a nice representation. Sweet guava, wet citrus with a great balance between all the additives provide a good strength and lasting impression.

T: Pink grapefruit juice, sugary grains and citrus are forefront to back notes of fresh berries on the flavor. Passion fruit adds tropical notes, along with some sweet peaches and mangoes. Damp citrus, both sweet and sour along with some stemmy berries and greens. Very flavor forward and fruit juice like.

M: Thick mouthful, is almost pulpy breakfast juice like. Juicy, creamy and full with little to no carbonation.

O: Overall the addition of the grapefruit, mangoes, passion fruit and berries all provide a flavorful experience with an equal balance and nice full creamy malting that provides a great mouthful and drinking experience. Tropical and fruity breakfast juice like, berries. Love the innovation of Evil twin that pushes the boundaries. Also who can resist a can with Will Wheaton on it.

This is fantastic! No lactose or vanilla necessary. It’s hoppy and fruity, but soft and low bitterness. I would say this is venturing more into being a fruited ale than in the class of an IPA, but it works. Intensely crushable. Perfectly balanced. My one small flaw in this beer is the ever so slight astringency/windex taste on the tip the tongue and lips. Is this a PH issue or an astringency issue due to oversparging or hopping rates/timing?? It’s an A beer for me.

No date on can, yolo.

A- Pours from the 12oz can into a narrow, tall mug with a chalky pink-amber body with a very fizzy and slightly frothy half cm head. The small cap does not stay along for all that long and lacing is very rare.

S- As one might expect the aroma is a huge fruit bomb and the always prominent passionfruit is massive alongside the raspberries and to a lesser degree the grapefruit. Hints at a lot of tartness at this stage. Sour stone and tropical fruits with a hint of berries.

T- Hmm, all of the things added really kind of clash when brought together and the overall effect is the flavor of a melted berry popsicle with some astringent tropical and citrus flavors from the hops and their bitterness. To be honest the flavor, at least of this can, is really just a mess and you kind of get stray passionfruit, raspberry, blueberry and grapefruit notes that really don't balance and work well together. Somewhat astringent bitterness throughout. From things added grapefruit, raspberry and passion are big and mango and blueberry are kind of hard to pick up.

MF- Medium bodied overall with a slickness throughout and it ends with a harsh bitterness. A fluffy and ever so slightly creamy texture and a moderate level of carbonation.

A lot of added fruits to an IPA and in the end the flavors meld together to just taste like a fruit punch mess. The bitterness of the brew compounds with the fruits and it comes off as astringent between the grapefruit and hop components.

Tasted in a Spiegelau IPA glass from a 12 fl oz can on June 15, 2018. IPA brewed with grapefruit passion fruit, mango, raspberry and blueberry. Recommended if you like this style.
