pours a cloudy golden straw with an annoyingly volcano-esque head that turns into pancake foam & hangs out after a few minutes. nose; wet hay & band-aidy brett. taste; dank hay, band-aid, pear, lemon rind, coriander, white pepper, & grassy hops. super carbonated & medium mouthfeel that's modified by the erupting co2 when it sits in your mouth. evil twin doesn't do subtle takes on a style, so the barnyard experience here is concentrated. pungent & punchy.

22 oz. bottle, no date. Bottle is a total gusher, but beer smells OK, so gave it a whirl. Nice floral saison notes with yeast. Beer maintained cap and ring even after an hour of resting in glass. Color is a hazy orange-bronze. Taste is citrus and floral with some mellowing from the honey, almost a bierre de miel. Yeastiness present, but not very sour. Medium-leaning body, very little carbonation, ironically. Seems like a fine saison/bierre de miel and wouldn't mind trying it fresh if ever made again.

Beer was served in a snifter at the Union Brewhouse in Weymouth.

Appearance: A two finger head was poured that reduced to a thin layer. It is a hazy pale yellow orange color with little vision of anything. Spotty lacing down the glass as the beer was drank.

Smell: Barnyard flavor, funk, apple, vanilla, spicy, yeasty, and sweetness most likely from the honey.

Taste: This beer is on the verge of a funky blend between a tripel and a saison. Very cool, slightly tart, smooth, a little chewy, and interestingly delicious.

Mouthfeel: Slightly smooth, tart, sour, funk, a little chewy, yeasty, and medium carbonation.

Overall: For a slightly funky farmhouse ale with honry, this was actually quite enjoyable. Looking forward to the next glass.

Bottle gushed as crazy. Hazy orange color with white head. Aroma has intense farmhouse notes, grassy, citrusy and funky. Taste is funky but not sour, really rustic and earthy notes. Balanced at first, just slightly bitter and dry on the finish. Really well made farmhouse ale.

Excellent take on the style. The aroma is mostly caramel malt with some fruit and a hint of barn. Flavor is bittersour, with a little sweet and citrus in the back. Body is softish. Easy drinking. Damn fine product.

Little cloudy, but the smell is exceptional very fruity without being overbearing in taste. Low ABV which means easy sipping. The taste is smooth with small hints of grapefruit and citrus. I would recommend this Saison to anyone looking for a solid introduction to the style or a long time lover of it.

Pours cloudy golden orange with a very thick white head that hangs around for a long time.

Smells like citrus and some sweeter fruits

Tastes lemon with honey sweetness in harmony. Almost like a lemon square or something. Some peppery spiciness in there as well. Towards the end the honey prevails and it ends on a sweet note.

MF-Dry and crisp

Overall: Really nice saison. I think I prefer the Ryan and the Beaster Bunny a little more, but the honey is definitely a great touch to add some sweetness.

If I close my eyes, I can imagine that I'm drinking a Dupont Biere de Miele, that brewery's saison with honey. This is every bit as classic. Slightly cloudy gold with a massive fluffy head, great fruity nose and flavor (not too sweet), and a remarkably creamy mouthfeel. Very impressive.

Orange with pink hues and a mountain of packed white froth.

Quite aromatic with grapefruit, orange, lemon, peppercorn and sugar.

Grainy and dry with a hint of lemon and fruit peel and dank with over-ripe fruit.

While there is no doubt this is a tasty and well-crafted brew, with so many great Saisons out there it will be hard for me to re-purchase due to one reason in particular that will remain unstated.
