Nice blend. Well balanced, bitter with excellent aroma of IPA with ample notes of stout, strong, but still drinkable. Dark brown with moderate head retention.

Quite a cool take on a Black and tan. $3.59 for the single. Poured into my mason jar glass.

A - As expected its dark but has some ruby hues at the base. Rocking full inch of mocha tinted head.
S - Smokey and roasty from the stout side but it seems the DIPA side is muted delivering a malty hop cone sweetness and chocolate notes all about.
T - Well its much more bitter than the smell has you to believe with stingy assertive bitterness clinging to the palate long after each sip. Good roast and smokey aspects really remind you of how good the Yin stout is and why they just didn't use a 50/50 blend for more chocolate and roast flavors.
M - Drinks quite good for the ABV medium to heavy in body but in no way syrup like.

Overall I am glad I tired this but will stick to just buying the Yin stout or try and seek out that Yang DIPA to see how deep the hop hole goes.

Strong and powerful. Much more hop forward than I would have expected. The Stout portion of the blend is really only to add some color, body and roast and chocolate notes. Overall I did enjoy this beer. My first Black and Tan so I have nothing to compare it too however I do not believe it is to style because the IPA would have not been used. Let's just call it an American interpretation.

Pours a clear deep brown with garnet hints when held to the light producing 2+ fingers of frothy, somewhat lasting, dark tan head that recedes to a solid cap leaving a ring & an inch of webby collar lace. Aroma is chocolate, dark roasted malts, toffee, caramel, smoke & burnt pine with only faint citrus & tropical fruit hints. Taste is a nice blend of Imperial stout & IPA, married so completely that it would be hard for me to discern exactly what this is had I not known. Taste is forward tropical fruit, especially pineapple and mango, with pine & a little grapefruit in concert with dark chocolate, smoke, roasted & caramel malts. Bitterness & alcohol are prominent. Bitterness declines slowly in the aftertaste which is rich with burnt/roast notes. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with low-moderate carbonation, tongue coating milk-like creaminess, silky & smooth. I'm not necessarily a Black and Tan fan but my goodness, what a great brew! This would make a great Christmas beer. Hopefully I can find some more!

One of the better evil twin beers in my opinion. I enjoy imperial IPA and imperial stout, so this mix of the two is great for me! Not much on the nose, drank this from bottle. The mouthfeel is what I expect a stout to be, somewhat heavy. Aftertaste was semi sweet. Not too boozy and not really hoppy. I'd definitely drink this again.
