12 oz can poured into glass. No date. Poured a little light on carbonation with no head. Quite a bit of haze. Not sure if this is unfiltered. Aroma is piney with grapefruit notes. Seemed appropriate for an American pale ale. The taste is all hops. Can’t really get any malt character in the flavor. The bitterness lingers big time on the tongue, again with tons of grapefruit. For an American Pale ale, this seems too unbalanced.

The colour is red-brown (30 EBC), the liquid cloudy. The low compact off-white head sinks slowly, leaving some lacing.

The smell is very hoppy with fruity notes of apricots, lime, mango and a little mint. A mild clean sweetness.

Tobacco notes in the taste and a grand bitterness. Dry malty flavours with some crisp bread. The growing bitterness got some tart edges to it. Green bananas and some alcohol. The bitterness just grows and grows in the aftertaste, as does the rye crisp bread flavours. The finish is bitter with some citric peels.

The carbonation is medium strong, the liquid quite light.

A brew that focuses entirely on the bitter flavours, but the malts supports it well in the bacground.
