Poured into a Celebrator pokal. Pours a slightly cloudy orange amber with a nice two finger off-white head with good retention and massive lacing. Great aroma of citrus hops, light fruit (kiwi?), floral and spicy. Flavor is citrus hops, orange, pineapple, sweet malt, finishes slightly dry with herbal hops and citrus. Complex and interesting. Medium bodied with moderate creaminess. A very intersting take on an imperial pilsner, the kiwi fruit flavors are intriguing without being over done. Very enjoyable.

A - Golden-orange, two fingers white fluffy head, ring of lacing, carbonation bubbles.

S - Wonderful layers of tropical fruits, hint of funk and dankness, soft balance of sweet grains.

T - Super hoppy, almost chewy with bitter hops and tropical fruits, juicy, bitterness lingers.

M - Medium body, moderate carbonation, chewy bitterness.

O - Really enjoyable, best pilsner I have ever had, drinks more like an IPA.

Pours gold with a large head.
Nose shows grapefruit, orange blossom and some biscuity malt.
Pretty aggressive flavours, very hoppy. Pine and grapefruit with a fair whack of sweet clean malt too. Aggressive sharp bitterness in the finish. Very clean, making the bitterness stand out even more. Seems a bit disjointed.
Great moderately high carbonation.

On-tap at the Local Taphouse in Sydney as part of their Scandinavian Makeover.

Pours a rather deep golden colour with some fair hazing to it. Head is a persistent, silky white, pocked with small bubbles. Huge, webbing, full, solid lace. Surprisingly light body but fine carbonation streaming rather languidly despite this. Looks decent.

Nose is much better than decent, however. Sharp, prickly aromas of crisp Kiwi hops. Grassy notes and some herbal tones. Even something more organic and ostensibly unsavoury: perhaps wet carpet, 1950s Air Freshener. Oh yeah, that's ripe. I like it.

Taste is full and rich on the front, surprisingly malty given the nose. This provides a basis though, and it develops into a slightly nuttiness mid-palate, laced with sparkly hops and something dirty and hard. Sharp on the back with a big bite: some booze, some clinging oil. Aftertaste is brusquely bitter. Solid stuff.

Feel is very sharp, largely from the hops, but the malt basis gives it a fullness which is quite pleasant.

Yep, this is a very pleasant if big and scary beer. Nice stuff.

Served from bottle into a Houblon Chouffe Pokal. Poured yellow-orange with a three finger very slight off-white head that subsided to a minimal very slowly. Maintained phenomenal lacing throughout the glass. The aroma was comprised of sweet malt, tropical fruit, kiwi, floral, and subtle wheat. The flavor was of sweet malt, tropical fruit, fruit, kiwi, floral, earth, earth hop, and fruit hop. It had a light feel on the palate with high carbonation. Overall this was a good brew. I really like what they had going on in this one as everything was very well presented and mixed together extremely nicely. This fact made it quite easy to drink and rather refreshing. Despite the higher ABV it was quite subdued if you ask me. I could honestly see this one getting a few people in trouble if they aren’t careful. Definitely would suggest this to others without hesitation.

A-light gold pour that turned a dark gold as the pour finished with a white head that faded quickly
S-bread or biscuit aroma with a orange smell
T-same as nose, but the alcohol warming comes in strong in the aftertaste with a hops bitterness added to it
M-light body and high carbonation
O-The beer has a good combination of aroma and flavor that would go great on a good summer day, and an alcohol warming that would be great on a winter day/

A: Pours a slightly hazy golden orange in color with some golden yellow and bright orange highlights along with light to moderate amounts of gentle carbonation near the surface. The beer has a pillowy/cloudy off-white head that slowly reduces to thick film covering the entire surface of the beer with a couple of small thick patches and a medium thick ring at the edges of the glass. Moderate amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Moderate aromas of hops - citrus/lemon + lime, spicy, tropical/passionfruit, and grassy. Underneath there is a light amount of bready malts with some slightly sweet caramel malts.

T: Upfront there is a moderate amount of malts that provide a solid backbone to this beer - bready first with some lighter amounts of sweet grains and caramel. Then the hops come in - first there is a moderate amount of citrus/lemon + lime and tropical passionfruit, followed by lighter amounts of spicy, and finally a light amount of herbal and grassy. Moderate amounts of lingering bitterness.

M: Slightly heavier than medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Slight amounts of dryness in the finish and very light notes of alcohol heat as the beer warms.

O: The choice of hops definitely make this an interesting beer, I like the combination of different flavors and aromas they contribute. This beer is fairly easy to drink and quite enjoyable but the alcohol makes it's presence known a little more as the beer warms up.

Thanks to tb69 for sharing enjoyed chilled in a glass.

The color is a light amber like honey with moderate haze and thick white cream with fine bead and thick lace sticks. The smell is very floral and fruity with a citrus and mild aroma of grass with light melon and toast. The feel is good moderately high bitterness with low alcohol influence and gentle malt body with medium carbonation and mild resinous and nuttiness in the finish.

The flavor is a mix of tropical fruit and slight grassy hops with malty backbone with toasted malt flavor supporting the mild flavor of herbs and some grapefruit tinges with lemon-lime quality and some light alcohol coming forward as it warms. Overall a very good example of an amped up, hopped up...however you want to call it lager. It is a very drinkable regardless of style. I recommend this if you enjoy the motueka or nz hops in general since it has a good amount of hop flavor

This poured out pretty active... comes out as a golden orange color with a cream colored head that foamed over the edge of the glass. The retention and lacing are both very strong on this beer. Really nice looking beer. The smell of the beer is bright, some citrusy aromas and just hints of caramel. The taste of the beer malty upfront that is followed up by some subtle kiwi and hops mixed together. The mouthfeel has a sharp carbonation with a creamy finish. This also has a medium oily body too. Overall I liked this beer, The price tag is unforgivable but still a decent brew if you're made of money.

A-dark yellow with a dark cream colored head

S-smells like an aged pilsner....basically honey and some bright citrus. possibly just a touch of kiwi, but barely. medium strength

T-comes in with a very warming taste of creamy honey lageresque malts. there's a good bit of bitterness that comes in with it stays for a little bit. the after-taste is matching with a touch of citrus. there might be a bit of kiwi in the extended after-taste.

M-medium to low carbonation with an okay dry finish

O-this is a good pilsner. its quite boring though. i would've loved to see a bit more kiwi in it. all in all, a solid beer. i'd love to try this fresh. the after-taste is my favorite part.

A: The beer is clear yellow in color and has a light amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a thin layer of large bubbles covering the surface that died down a bit but never completely faded away.
S: There are light aromas of tropical fruits in the nose-passionfruit seems to stand out in particular.
T: The taste shares some similarities with the taste, but is much more complex. The Motueka hops lend flavors of tropical fruits along with hints of citrus and a good amount of spiciness towards the finish. There are also some hints of grainy malts.
M: It feels medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: The New Zealand hops definitely make this beer very interesting to drink.

This beer has a barely translucent golden-orange color. Nice head on top with slightly sticky lacing. A very tasty looking beer.

Yeast and slight malty sweetness come through on the nose. Crisp. Something else here that I can't quite put my finger on, maybe it is a floral characteristic or some other earthy tone.

It tastes vegetal at first, then hoppy. This is just a weird beer. I was excepting the kiwi to add some sort of acidity to it, which it did not. Very bitter in a way that's not necessarily hoppy, so maybe that's where the kiwi comes in. The vegetal flavor comes back. A bit floral, but I can't tell whether it works with beer or not.

Very dry mouthfeel and well carbonated. It leaves a dusty and dry residue at the end of each sip, and a bit of alcohol presence develops as it warms up.

I would definitely consider this a unique pilsner. Once your palette gets used to the flavors, the vegetal nature becomes sort of nice and the beer is pretty decent. In the end, nothing special, but undeserving of the word “kiwi” in it's misnomer of a name.
