Pours black and opaque, without any bubbles or head. Nose is chocolate and rich malt. The malt has a subtle burnt edge on the nose but is is not in your face with char. A moment of dark fruit shows itself there by contrast. smells fudgy. Taste is smooth as silk with no abv on the palate at all for 12 percent. There is a slight warmth as this one goes to the finish st first and then none. The burnt dryness of the malt takes your palate first and then it rolls over your tongue creamy and with lots of richness and chocolate flavor. The alcohol lends a bit of sweetness, the hops are earthy. Finishes balanced, smooth and dry. However there are no bubbles at all. Even without them the beer drinks so well.

wasnt overly impressed with this one. yes, it looked sexy on the pour - great roasty notes of dark malts, coffee & chocolate on the nose. bitter espresso and dark malts on the palate. feel is a bit thinner than I would like for the style, and especially given the fact that the alcohol is a bit noticeable - slightly watery texture with an alcohol burn is enough to turn me off from an imperial stout... and in this case especially so, because i didnt get any sweet notes to provide balance. all and all I think this beer is a bit of a mess and although it looked and smelled nice, it doesnt hold a candlestick to the imperial stouts that i would consider top notch. not the first time ive been let down by an evil twin stout, starting to think these guys are highly over rated. I would avoid this one, despite the availability and shiny packing, its not worth it.

Super fudgy goodness, from the motor oil pour to the big smooth body, to the creamy chocolaty flavors. does not get overly sweet; rather a solid double stout.

Pours motor oil black color with a minimal mocha head. Aroma is rich roasty malts and chocolate with a touch of nuttiness. Flavor is dark chocolate very smooth and creamy with roasted malts and a nice aftertaste. Has a rich creamy body and overall it's an absolutely delicious beer.

Chili peppers HUGE in this stout. If a heavy chili pepper presence is you this the this is definetly the brew for you. have a hard time recognizing the coffee or vanilla.
