Did the flavors of sugar and bitter sweet almonds and coffee in Imperial Biscotti Break also make you sentimental? Now we topped it off with insane amounts of doughnuts. This all time American favorite is making it’s way back into the spotlight and we at Evil Twin Brewing are not letting a tasty trend pass us by without taking it to the next level. Drink it with great gusto - Forza Doughnuts.

When members of the Galactic Empire need a break, they take an Imperial Donut Break made by Evil Twin. This imperial porter pours a dark brown body that blocks light and has a chocolate brown head. The alcohol notes are present in the smell, though I almost smell pumpernickel. The flavor is a back and forth between sweetness and pumpernickel. The mouthfeel is mostly smooth with a little tartness at the end. I was expecting more sweetness with this type of name.

Had to deduct points because it's advertised as a "pastry stout" however, I didn't pick up any pastry flavors. A very creamy and delicious coffee stout but no doughnuts. Maybe it pairs well with doughnuts?
Look: Very dark
Smell: Coffee, molasses
Taste: Coffee, molasses, cream, hoppy finish. Sorta sour.
Feel: Creamy smooth

Pours pitch black from a 16oz can and leaves a mocha-colored head. Lots of roasted malt and huge amounts of fresh ground coffee and espresso, along with minor notes of milk sugars. Full-bodied, alcohol is well-hidden.

Touted as a sweet, donut-y pastry alternative to Imperial Biscotti Break, but...this is just a coffee porter! And I say that lovingly, its a good coffee porter in my opinion - probably exactly what I want from one.

December 2023. Athens. Overall good beer however two things it’s a little sweet and it doesn’t have a lot of unique flavor therefore not extremely special wouldn’t go out of my way to buy it again but it was good just wasn’t great.

Pours black with moderate carbonation that develops into a nicely sculpted head of three finger foam. Aroma is coffee and roasted malt. Taste is likewise coffee and roasted malt. Drinkable and worthy.

Sample on tap at What’s Brewing Beer Festival, Stavanger. Black colour, tan head. Chocolate and vanilla in the aroma. Medium sweet flavour, chocolate and vanilla galore, some roasty coffee notes in the finish.

Bottle from Etre Gourmet, served at home in a snifter glass.
Black colour, medium beige head with short retention. No lacing.
Aroma of chocolate, cognac, molasses, notes of raisins, licorice and almonds. I can´t find coffee.
Medium body, sticky creamy texture, flat carbonation.
Taste follows the aroma.
Interesting but I really expected some more.
