Notes / Commercial Description:
On a pilgrimage for immortal craft beer we tripped on these heavenly coffee beans - threw them in and created damn good aromas, a thick fudge-like body, pitch black color and obviously only made in limited amounts. And the taste.... furthermore jesus!

Served in a snifter from the bottle.

Appearance: super thick dark brown to black body with an extra dark tan head rising a notch above a finger's length.

Smell: Heavy coffee scent, actually closer to espresso.

Taste: Malts and smooth bitterness which has a dark chocolate feel to the beer. Sweet notes but don't think it's one of those molasses sweet beers...has hot milk and espresso feel which definitely beyond satisfies my palates.

Mouth: Little dry with medium carbonation and heavy stickiness to the brew.

Overall: Monster brew, incredible fight courtesy of my wife...think she knows my palates better than me. You see it you buy it and huge props to Cerveceria Montseny in Barcelona, Spain for producing this little beast. Salud

Appearance - Pours black sort of oily with thin mocha colored head. Spotty lacing around the glass.

Aroma - Coffee, dark chocolate, roasted malts, cinnamon and vanilla.

Taste - Lost of coffee and roasted malts. Light amount of dark chocolate and vanilla.

Feel - Full bodied creamy, well carbonated smooth the 12% alcohol is well hidden.

Overall - This is a great coffee stout, wonderful flavors very smooth and the alcohol is well masked.

Poured from a 12oz bottle into a tulip glass at around 1 year old. Appearance is jet black with a little bit of dark brown coloring around the edges. There is almost no head at all. Smell is fairly heavy bourbon, which is interesting since it isn't barrel aged. There are also notes of dark roasted coffee, caramel malt, brown sugar and maybe pecans. Taste follows the nose with good sweetness throughout and fairly little bitterness. There is a lot of roasted malt/coffee flavor that gives this a nice edge. Otherwise, the mouthfeel is chewy, ,smooth and fairly thick with low carbonation. There is also a slightly watery finish that makes this imperial stout fairly drinkable.

Overall, this is a very enjoyable coffee stout, but it is a notch below the best in style. The smell is amazing and the roasted coffee flavors are very good. However, it is a little too sweet. Also, the mouthfeel, although very smooth, does not quite bring it all together.

2016 vintage
No bottle date, but around 6 months since purchase / release

Appearance- Pours a black color, oily thick body, completely opaque. Thin layer of dark tan colored head, soapy / bubbly. Tons of spotty head lacing on glass. Alcohol legs coat glass with a dark film-like layer.

Aroma- Cold brewed coffee, bitter, earthy ashy smoke, dry cocoa. Roasted malt, charred wood, bittersweet dark chocolates. Dark fruits, hints of toffee and caramel.

Taste- Bittersweet dark chocolates, charred malts, cocoa, espresso, smoky undertones. Dark fruits, licorice, molasses, savory umami character. Coffee on the finish w/ a lingering bitterness.

Feel- Full bodied, thick and chewy, mouth coating. Lower carbonation, very silky and smooth.

Overall- Coffee comes through up front with a rich espresso bean quality, but then there is an aggressive cold brewed coffee type presence that lingers on the aftertaste. The base beer is enveloped in coffee, but at the same time it is not overpowerd. A lot of the roasty, smoky, savory notes from the base beer still shine through.

Pitch black and thick like a shake with only a half finger of orange brown chocolate head.

Smells of chocolate, coffee, snow, floral essence, green beans, and really sweet like molasses or a chocolate shake.

Tastes of coffee, snow, molasses, chocolate, green beans, and some floral tastes.

Really thick like a milk shake, with moderate, foamy carbonation.

Really good brew. Got this in in Albany, NY. Enjoying it Jan 11th in Chiang Mai, Thailand.

After trying a few subpar stouts in a row, this was just what the doctor ordered! Coffee hits you early and the alcohol is never strong despite the 12% ABV. Willl be drinking this a lot in the future.

Pours black with a reluctantly forming, fizzy, creme-colored head. Head peaks at half a finger in height. Lacing dots linger for a little bit, otherwise the glass looks clean. Roasted malts hit the nose first, with additional notes of coffee and chocolate. Not a whole lot going on in the front end. It does give a dark, inviting aroma. A sip opens up roasted malts first, with a hint of coffee. As the flavor profile progresses, the notes of coffee and chocolate grow, before finishing with just chocolate on the tongue. Its a smooth, clean flavor profile, far from a stout you just about eat. Mouth feel is smooth and creamy, with a medium consistency. Thickness bumps up to a medium-thick as the beer warms, but still stays smooth and creamy. This stout is not filling or grainy in any way. Overall, its a solid imperial stout with coffee. Coffee does pop through nicely, while still remaining in check. This is all coming from someone who wants to smell and taste coffee on the front end, so as far as personal preference, its a little lacking, otherwise it's great.

Served in a 12oz snifter.

Poured at 51°F from an 11.2oz bottle (no date) into a Spiegelau Stout glass.
SMELL: Massive waves of bittersweet chocolate are bolstered by strong plum, raisin, fig, caramel, and toffee aromas. Mild aromas of sweet coffee, bitter roasted malts, and vanilla along with subtle scents of molasses and alcohol further boast of the Stout profile.
4.5 out of 5
TASTE: Robust flavors of bittersweet chocolate drown the palate with strong plum, raisin, and fig flavors. Mild bittersweet coffee vanilla flavors maintain the balance of the beer even as the plum flavors grow slightly stronger. The sweetness of the brew is amplified as mild caramel and toffee flavors enter mid-palate. Strong bitter roasted malt flavors along with subtle molasses and alcohol bring the beer towards the bitter side of the spectrum while the caramel and toffee become a little more prominent.
4.25 out of 5
NOTE: I was not expecting such a balanced Stout given that 'Even More Jesus' was a delectable sweet bomb. Although balanced, this leaned more towards bitter than I wanted it to. The coffee presence was great, but it was nowhere near where I thought it was going to be.
