Pours murky, orange-brown in color with one inch head. Taste is big banana, wheat, clove, and coriander. Medium bodied, medium-low carbonation and sweet. Makes for a very good, solid hefe. I prefer others, but this is quite good.

Pours beautifully into my Weihenstephan, a brilliant clouded golden orange glow looks amazing. Big cloudy thicket of textured billowing head rises well above the rim of the glass. Intricate scattered lacing lines the sides of the tall weissbier glass. Aroma has tart apple esters in the forefront with spiced bread hints of banana from the yeast esters. Balanced sweet caramelized sugars, tart fruit again sliced apples/ripened banana comes to mind. The spicy yeast really compliments the malts and esters, mild herbal grassiness arrives as well this is world class German hefeweizen. Mouthfeel is effervescent with sturdy carbonation, not overdone never cloying even with some pretty sweet components just a really well made hefe. Overall I could drink this on any sunny day, I hope to catch more bottles this summer. I had never seen the label so I picked it up on a whim, glad that I did.

Benediktiner Weissbier from a bottle.
Slightly hazy Orange Amber with a fine, durable of white head
Yeast, banana and malt in the nose.
Unusual yeasty flavor with a mild note of banana and fainty spicy. Sweet.
Medium+body with medium but soft carbonation. Near creamy smooth.

Benedikteiner Weissbier
16.9 oz. bottle, dated "03.01.13 A26A536"
$4.00 @ The Beer Shoppe, Ardmore, PA
Benedikteiner is a slightly interesting Bavarian weissbier from Ettal, a small town to the southwest of Munich. It's fairly basic as far as hefeweizens go, but it's also slightly different in some ways. The yeast component is mild: soft banana is present, accented by a bit of vanilla, and there's a light touch of bubblegum or soft clove as well. Some fruitiness? Ah, yes, there's a touch, mainly apple and very delicate lemon. There may even be a hint of a plastic phenol underneath, but that doesn't really show up even in the burp so let's just leave it there and call it another nuance of complexity. There's an interesting component to the malt, unless that's just oxidation I'm picking up, but for some reason though, I kind of remember that maltiness being a prominent feature in their other beers. It's lightly caramelish, and bready as well as wheaty. Some peppery spiciness appears in the finish along with a bit of herbal and grassy character, and I'm not sure if the spice is coming from the yeast or the hops. Overall it's pleasant, and if you like hefeweizens you can't really fault it. Worth trying.

Poured two fingers of thick, foamy head on a hazy, dark straw colored body.
The aroma is mostly caramel. It's nice, if one-sided.
The taste is sweet caramel, dry grain and lemon bitter at the end.
The texture is crisp with moderate carbonation.
Enjoyable.

L: clody amber orange color, gives of a fine medium head, fine lacing on the glass
S: Yeast, banana ripes , cloves, hints of citrus fruits and corriander.
T : folllows the nose for the most, yeast ,banana, citrus, cloves and other spices,
F: high carbonation , a bitterness in the finish that does not last for so long.very easy to drink
O: a good hefeweiz , easy drinkable. Taste is good. But i think it gets to anonymus in the taste compared to other weissbiers. is a lot of others in Germany that is much better, but all in all not a bad beer
