Pours murky, orange-brown in color with one inch head. Taste is big banana, wheat, clove, and coriander. Medium bodied, medium-low carbonation and sweet. Makes for a very good, solid hefe. I prefer others, but this is quite good.

Never saw this until recently but it seems pretty widely available in the states. I'm reviewing a 500 ml can.

It pours a very dark, very thick orange with a middling head.

Smells thick and yeasty (just how I like em). Wheatmalt dominates with large nodes of bananas, white pepper, clove, and tiny bits of melon.

Tastes great. Pepper and melon up front, moving into a clovey middle and finishing on large, lively banana nodes. The flavor is abetted by a fantastically thick and creamy body, which lends the whole shebang the feel of some sort of wonderful frosting.

Canning really serves German beers well. As I'll probably always be too poor to ever get to visit Europe, I at least hope more continental brewers start shipping pint cans over here.

Nice crisp wheat ale, without being overpowering. Very good balance. With the pour and head you can smell the hops. The head is nice and creamy. The first taste you notice the light flavor and malt come through. Has a hint of bananas and lemon grass. But very drinkable. Not think at all. Very good for a hot summer day.

Bottle. Aroma of banana, . nice aroma for Weissbier from bottle. Golden color, hazy liquid, white head. Light sweet and bitter, taste of banana, orange. Medium body, flat carbonation. Easy bitter finish. Drink it ice cold.

First had this beer, now called Benediktiner Weissbier (Hefe-Hell), at Biergarten, Heide Park, on draft into hazy plastic beer cup. Oddly deep in color and malty.

Appearance - dark golden color with egg white head

Smell - wheat, banana, yeast, clove

Taste - banana, clove, yeast

Mouthfeel - light bodied, almost watery, medium carbonation, decent clove in the aftertaste

Overall - decent beer here , middle of the road for the style, a tad watery but worth a shot

Price Point - $1.99/16.9 oz can

Poured into tall glass: color is hazy copper, head is big at least 1 inch thick and a khaki/light tan color, fine bubbles, some lacing on the glass.

Smell is light, but some different noticeable aromas from some hefes: at first hints of lighter spice, clove, hint of vanilla, toasted wheat, biscuit and ending with light banana. Different subtle, but good and enticing.

Taste is maltier, slightly sweet, a little more tart than many hefes: taste leans to lighter wheat malt, less banana, but moderate clove, vanilla, banana spice/yeast flavors; tartness is simple with a more lemon like flavor, similar to a lemon cake.

Mouthfeel is moderate, light crispness, a little lingering fullness on the tongue with the light tart sourness.

Overall: a good, different take on the hefe style - which is always dependent upon the yeast in terms of off notes - this one seems to have a tarter finish than many.
