Bottle. Aroma of banana, . nice aroma for Weissbier from bottle. Golden color, hazy liquid, white head. Light sweet and bitter, taste of banana, orange. Medium body, flat carbonation. Easy bitter finish. Drink it ice cold.

First had this beer, now called Benediktiner Weissbier (Hefe-Hell), at Biergarten, Heide Park, on draft into hazy plastic beer cup. Oddly deep in color and malty.

Appearance - dark golden color with egg white head

Smell - wheat, banana, yeast, clove

Taste - banana, clove, yeast

Mouthfeel - light bodied, almost watery, medium carbonation, decent clove in the aftertaste

Overall - decent beer here , middle of the road for the style, a tad watery but worth a shot

Price Point - $1.99/16.9 oz can

Poured into tall glass: color is hazy copper, head is big at least 1 inch thick and a khaki/light tan color, fine bubbles, some lacing on the glass.

Smell is light, but some different noticeable aromas from some hefes: at first hints of lighter spice, clove, hint of vanilla, toasted wheat, biscuit and ending with light banana. Different subtle, but good and enticing.

Taste is maltier, slightly sweet, a little more tart than many hefes: taste leans to lighter wheat malt, less banana, but moderate clove, vanilla, banana spice/yeast flavors; tartness is simple with a more lemon like flavor, similar to a lemon cake.

Mouthfeel is moderate, light crispness, a little lingering fullness on the tongue with the light tart sourness.

Overall: a good, different take on the hefe style - which is always dependent upon the yeast in terms of off notes - this one seems to have a tarter finish than many.

Poured from the can into a wheat ale glass.

Frothy rich forming classic head, khaki to light tan color with a creamy styrofoam like appearance. Foamed top and island retention, sitting on a dark amber body, with large chestnut brown colors. Small amounts of rising carbonation rise out, nice and dark, good looking change from your usual weiss.

Banana ester with a good rich toasty malt. Hints a little flakey grain a bit, and quite mineral like as well. Aside from a bit of toasty malt, a hint of wetness seems to hint. Otherwise fairly solid.

More of that mineral quality hits the palate. Light slightly wet bodied mouthfeel with some mineral and tannic caramel that adds minimal sweetness. Quite dry finish, even a hinting twinge of sour yeast like qualities but not infection makes a hint on the aftertaste. Not much chewy body to this, but some hints faint of caramel warmth and sweetness. Surprising not much estery flavor coming off.

A pretty neutral hefe, but it's malt body seems a bit neutered and quite weak. Mineral quality and twingy finish seems to be rather unexpected as well. Drinkable almost like a dumbed down marzen with hardly any banana or estery give.

Hazy and orange. Huge creamy head, very persisting. Leaving a fantastic lacing. Strong, mature banana aroma and moderate phenols. Low malt aroma. Low aroma of floral hops. Medium sweet, low yeast bitterness. Medium body, medium-high carbonation, grainy, light dry finish, spiciness.

Very tasty

Look: Big fluffy light tan head above a hazy light yellow/orange beer
Smell: Big banana, light clove and bread
Taste: Very mildly sweet with some banana, light clove and possibly some other spices, and light malt flavor, slight ciders finish.
Feel: Tastes a little thin for a Hefeweizen, but is very drinkable
Overall: A really mild flavored beer with some good flavor

Poured to a Erdinger glass.

A: The body is yellow-ish to orange but it's too crystalline for a Hefe. It has clear body, nothing hazy, shows tons of carbonation. Head has no retention.
S: The aroma has no banana but has a bit tons of clove. There's also a bit of sweetness but this has some clear deviation from the style.
T: It has a sweet begining, with the clove having a regular profile. In the end, the wheat malt helps this beer to have some drinkability.
M: Body is medium to medium low. Carbonation is bit harsh. No bitterness.
O: This beer is not a good option when looking for a Hefe. Krystalweizen appears to be a better classification of this beer. Would not drink again.
