It tasted so good to me when I tried it as a sample at the store but when I got it home and opened one, I couldn't finish it. However I did bump it up to a 3.25 because it is really great to marinate chicken in while cooking.

Excited to try this one! First thing to hit you is a heavy whiff of smoked spice, if this beer tastes anything like it's smell I feel I'm in for a unique treat. Pour is cloudy golden amber. I can tell already that the carbonation has fallen off, strange thin inkblot foam. The taste is quite interesting, on your tongue you have a cool, somewhat bland beer while rich jalapeno dusts the roof of your mouth, and leaves a spicy and slightly chocolate feel. Although I wish for more complexity in the beer side the jalapeno, I call this art, pop art but still art.

Golden-amber beer with a light head and a glass-round unbroken lace. Smokey, spicy - spices and a roast that has a sort of pine in the background. Love the little sting it has to it. The taste really exceeded in making this a winner. Noticeable smokey jalapeno - how creative?! A little bit of pine and an easy drinking mouth feel. Definitive little burn it has to it as well that sits on the back of the throat and tongue. What a nice change of scenery beerwise. Very well done and will be buying it again. Proud of this Houston brew as a fellow Texan. Cheers!

Ok. This is my first go at a chile beer, so it will be interesting to say the least. Pours a clear amber color with a 2 finger width foamy head. Head retention and lacing are both very good. Has a pale malt and smokey aroma. I can detect a small hint of jalapeno at the end. Very interesting. You get the taste of pale malts initially, followed by a definite smokey taste, then a pepper spiciness at the end that persists for a while. More or less tastes like bacon wrapped jalapenos. The most interesting beer I have ever had, but not sure how much I really like it yet. Definitely got to rate it a 5 for complexity. Light bodied with moderate to heavy carbonation.

Tried at the brewery tour, I don't like the flavor of the jalapeno in this beer and the acidic burn in the back of my throat made me feel like I had been burping up bile.

I don't think I'll try another one.
