Poured on-tap at Chama River Brewing Co, the beer was served in a pint glass. The beer pours jet black with a viscous look to it. A thin film of light brown colored head rests atop this brew. Slightly boozy nose, with bits of chocolate, but slightly muddled overall. Increased carbonation mouthfeel, but leaves a great lacing on the glass as you imbibe. Very bitter flavors, and very dry. Dark coffee flavors with a strong roast/burnt/smoke influence. Crisp and dry finish with a roasted aftertaste. Very good flavors, but a little on the light side overall for the style.
