Poured into a nonic pint glass, the appearance was a soft murky dark orange close to amber/red color with a sustaining finger's worth of white foamy head that slid off at a mild pace. Some stringy lace started but slid right on into the beer fairly nice.
The aroma had some floral and piney hops up front with some sweet oats, caramel malts and some milk chocolate coming in for a fairly nice balance.
The flavor was moderately sweet through the blend of the oats, caramel malts and milk chocolate qualities. Hops seem a bit more laid back here which I didn't mind. Nice smooth rolling malty aftertaste with a touch of those "laid back hops."
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied with a fair sessionability about it. Carbonation felt fine. ABV felt as projected. Nice smooth oaty to malty finish.
Overall, very nicely done "oatmeal amber ale." It's one that I'd come back to.

-Spiegelau ipa glass.

A: Light ice tea coloring with an impressive light tan head of foamy consistency. Fine mist of effervesce while the vessel supports a healthy high rate of broken foam lace banding. A second pour yields a good deal of macro-turbid matter creating a thick and turbid haze, and of course, bonus points from me.

S: The nose was of chocolate oats, pine hops and some sweet caramel grains.

T: The flavor was sweet chocolate and oats, sweet and spicy hops add spark with some tropical notes. Nice malt base while some bright citrus hops break through with some piney fruit notes on the close. Slight warmth of alcohol from the 6.6% adds a complimentary addition.

M: Nice creaminess on the mouthful, of medium body, a soft rate of carbonation adds to the lush feel.

O: Nice drinkability factor, nice accent of tropical fruit with an ideal red malt base. Sweet, fruity, spicy, and ideal for multiples.

Pours - Deep copper color with a decent off white head very good lacing.

Smell - First thing I get is hops also getting some malts and a little bit of oats.

Taste - nice good hoppy flavor a little hard to distinguish any one thing kind of earthy flavor.

Feel - Medium body a little dry some after taste I am not sure I care for.

Overall - An ok beer I would probably not have again.

Appearance: Pours a slightly hazy copper color with an impressive whipped cream head; excellent stickage and clumps of lace

Smell: Caramel, stone fruit, earthy, slight diacetyl

Taste: Caramel and stone fruit tones, on the front end, with earthy elements building; rather bitter, through the middle, with the sweet malts underpinning the hops; a bit of diacetyl in the aftertaste

Mouthfeel: Medium to full body; rather creamy, with moderate carbonation

Overall: Nothing particularly distinctive here, but that's the style, by and large

Pours a deep cloudy copper brown with a nice amount of creamy white head. The head has moderate retention and leaves some small sticky lacing. The aroma is good, with mostly tropical fruits balanced against darker fruits and a bit a bready-ness. The taste is about the same with the hops and malts balanced nicely. The body is smoother owing to the oat included but there is a bit on tingling in the tongue throughout.

Was expecting more from this beer in terms of flavor, not bad in any way but was a little on the plain side. Notes of citrus, light hops, and mint. Color was a brown/red. Fairly carbonated. Easy drinking, light on alcohol flavor. Worth a try you might just love it.
