If there are any beer stores in Heaven (or the Elysian Fields, or whatever), they are like this. Small and cozy, stocked to the gills with outstanding craft brews and imports arranged by style - and there is not even so much as a drop of big-name industrial swill. That is a BIG plus in favor of this place. The people who work there are helpful and friendly, but not in-your-face or obtrusive. Jay, the proprietor, was delighted to see me going after so many fine beers and even helped me look for some. I enjoyed meeting him and talking with him, and I fully intend to go back!

In addition to all the fine beers, they have an impressive array of glassware - not just regular pint glasses, but lots of brand-specific stemware. They also stock homebrew supplies. Their prices may not be the best, but their selection leaves nothing to be desired; they had several beers I have never seen before, including a few from a brewery I had not known of previously. If you live in the Atlanta area, Ale Yeah is a must!

Not the biggest selection in the world, but the quality of the selection was great. The service was very helpful and knowledgeable. Awesome atmosphere, great place!

Stopped here on a recomendation of a fellow BA because I was in the area. I was definitely NOT disappointed! The place is rather small but I was very surprised at the vast selection of Ale Yeah! considering the size. The staff was also EXTREMELY helpful and made some decent recommendations based on what my style of beer was. I will definitely be back to Ale Yeah! when I'm in the area again.

Great little BEER store! Great service! Good selection and they sell singles, so you can make your own sampler packs! I got a great selection of porters and stouts the other day.

A - A small shop in a small non-descript strip across from the MARTA tracks. Sort of out of the way, but probably very convenient to the local neighbor. Open, clean, bright. 4

S - Great service. Proper level of engagement vs. letting me browse uninterrupted. Knowledgeable and friendly staff. They allow you to break any six/four pack and pay the proportional price per can/bottle. 4.75

S - A fine selection of beer. Probably more US than international. Plenty of locals but not necessarily some of the hard to find beers distributed to the state but not nationally (Cigar City, Westbrook, etc.). 3.75

Q - Pay attention to the dates. I do not mind older beers that age well (e.g. stouts, high ABV), but a number of IPA bombers I picked up (e.g. Port City) were either right at the edge (5-6 months) to way beyond bottle date (12-18 months). Very few bottles in coolers, so I was not going to buy any hoppy beer that was just 4-5 months old. 3.5

F - No food, but they do fill growlers. A decent selection of about eight beers. They will clean and fill any growler. 4

Prices - Average $$

Hop City is better. But I have yet to find what I would call an excellent bottle shop in Atlanta.

Didn't feel too customer-friendly. When I asked to sample, they were more interested in pointing out the $1 charge than in describing what they had. I sampled only one draft (they had a pretty limited selection anyway) and decided to buy bottles instead - they were probably worried that I would walk out of the store without paying the $1 as I kept getting offered "help" by the guy at the counter every 2 minutes. Not a way to do business...I am not going back. And given that I bought 4 rather expensive bottles, I hope they realize it is their loss...

A great east side option, second to Hop City in size and offerings but they are very helpful and knowledgeable. Good glass selection, growlers and some gourmet foods, although beer is their main game. My bet is they will have something you like. proximity to farmers market, Revolution Doughnuts, and Decatur area makes this worth a trip for entertaining foodies on a visit to ATL

Ale Yeah! is a rather small operation. The beers are divided into "aisles" according to style (I say "aisles" because the aisles are only one shelf deep.) IPAs, Stouts, Belgians, etc. There is a good selection of product across the styles, but not an overly deep selection. For example, they have Stone IPA, Westbrook IPA, Sierra Nevada Torpedo, and Jai Alai, but they don't have Ruination, Levitation, Enjoy By, etc. So, in general each brewery is represented by only 2 or 3 of their beers. The major exception to this is Terrapin, for which they seem to have every beer you don't want and none of the beers you do want (I'm looking at you Cinn Roll WnB). Prices are about 10-20% higher than what I am used to, resulting in a dollar or two more for a 6 pack. However, locally produced bombers were relatively cheap, most being in the $7-$8 range.
There is a growler station in the back. If I recall there was about 10-12 taps on. Samples available for $1. 32oz and 64oz growlers available for sale, though they will fill outside growlers as well. 64oz growlers ranged in price from $8 - $14.
Service is helpful and attentive, though limited in knowledge: my question as to whether a particular IPA was East Coast or West Coast resulted in a question back to me regarding the difference between an East Coast and a West Coast IPA. Oh well, I guess Georgia is still relatively new to the scene, so they're still learning.
Of note, I came here at the recommendation of a friend who lives in the area whom is into craft beer, but isn't a BA-using craft beer geek. My friend lives less than two miles from here and notes this is his go-to beer store, but also notes when he is looking for more, he heads up to Hop City (which I didn't visit). In the end, this store was more than sufficient for my needs as someone passing through the area, but really isn't a World Class destination.
