A graveyard for old beer, even some belgian styles they have on the shelf look past their prime in this place. The craft section is laid out strangely and separated into different parts of the store. Tons of leftover pumpkin stuff and were pushing spring. Staff is rude and will gladly try and sell you something they have to get rid of rather than a genuinely good product. I bought a 6 pack, got to my car, realized it was out of code, went back in literally 30 seconds later to exchange it and the entire staff behind the counter gave me a hard time because I didn't have a recent when they didn't even give me one.

If I lived just a tad bit closer, this would be my craft beer go to store. From the moment you enter, you can tell the manager takes pride in his craft selection. You're not slammed by the typical deals going on for BMC. Instead, you're presented with a nice selection of various craft that they've recently acquired. After walking in, you can definitely see the craft selection that's laid out on the side and whole back wall of the store. The manager and his staff are very knowledgeable and friendly, willing to give recommendations at a moment's notice. They'll also try to order anything you need or, if there's a limited release coming out, they'll gladly put your name on a list and call you the moment stuff arrives. On top of that, they're pretty consistent with updating their Facebook page to notify everyone of new releases. This store, along with the Toms River Spirits on Rt. 37, is by far a favorite.

A - It's a liquor store, albeit a nice one, with friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable staff.

S - Service for me has been nothing short of excellent. The staff is always helpful, friendly and courteous.

Selection is just about as good as NJ distro can be. A huge plus is the growler filling station which I believe has 6 or 8 taps, each with a quality brew. They even get limited edition stuff from time to time, as I've seen Backwoods Bastard and Parabola both on tap.

Great NJ store, I stop by every time I'm in the area.

This is by far my favorite place to shop for beer in NJ.

Atmosphere: The store is laid out very nicely and neatly with new stock showcased.

Quality: The manager is always trying to get new stock in. He tries to keep the freshest stuff for sale. He is more than willing not only to give samples from the growler station but has even opened a bottle for me in that past when I questioned if it was still good or not (right after the best by date).

Service: As mentioned in quality the manager is great. However the rest of the staff there is incredible. They are always asking if I need any help or making suggestions for other beers I may like. I bring my homebrews in from time to time and they all give me feedback and also ask when I will be bringing my next batch in. They all care about their customers and are always willing to help them out as much as possible. I cant say enough about the service.

Selection: Okay here is a little bit lower as there are a few stores with a bigger selection, but dont be fooled you can get a great amount of beers here and they are always trying to get in new stuff and have the occassional rarity. Growler station is great and the prices are more than reasonable, comparable to the price per oz in the bottle. The growlers are not properly filled (they leave out about 4 or 5 oz), but you can get a lot in growlers that I would not expect to find anywhere else.

Well it's about time someone reviewed this place, so figured I would--since it's now my go to place.

I used to have to drive over an hour for good, fresh craft beer. Now thanks, to Spirits, it's all of 5 minutes away.

Spirits has upped their game tremendously, and they are now one of the handful of spots in NJ that does Growler Fills (with samples) in store. I'm not talking about any Growler Fills, we're talking about six different craft taps featuring the rarest of the rare Founders' Limited Releases, Big DFH releases, and the best and freshest IPAs around etc.

But all the must have limited bottles, they will get in too, and be extremely fair priced. In fact, they once over charged me and since they had my contact info from their Beer Club, they called me up an hour later and apologized and made up the difference next time I came in! I don't think that would happen in almost any place in any business...

The staff is extremely friendly, and they may not be all beer geeks like us (the managers certainly seem to be though), but they will go out of their way to find what you want, order what you want, and set the good stuff aside in the back for you.

Not as large of a selection of some the huge, Home Depot-like locations, but they definitely have a focus on American Craft Beers for their shelf space dedicated to craft beers, and will try to get anything that comes to NJ. I'm told they are looking to dedicate more of the store to craft beer as well soon!
