Among the best beer bars/bottle shops i have ever visited. A true credit to upstate South Carolina.

Extremely good service and great selection. Very nice selection from local to US to international. Prices are competitive. Growler station that also serves pints. The gent onsite will walk you through everything in the store, location wise, type/style, and their recommendations - very knowledgeable and very friendly. Would recommend stopping in.

Excellent selection (they actually had Maine Beer Co on tap x2!). Growler station. Devin is very knowledgeable and helpful. It is a small space downtown full of beers with only 3 or 4 tables so the "vibe" rating doesn't really seem applicable, though it was laid back and cool. I'll go back for sure.

Online order, so vibe doesn't really apply.
From photos, you can see the densely packed dark wood shelves hold lots of variety, with clearly marked prices. In one corner is a growler fill tap station with 16 draft beers listed on a chalkboard above.
Selection was good, and they update their inventory online. SC locals from Birds Fly South, Freehouse, Revelry, Carolina Bauernhaus, and more. Deep import selection with many obscure labels, including a couple dozen Belgian lambics.
I had emailed them about a few local things and they got back to me right away, but a week passed before confirming the order. It took a week after payment to receive the box. Not the fastest turnaround, but it was well packed in a sturdy styro shipper. All in all I was satisfied with the experience, and would order again, and hopefully will stop in someday.

If you're not familiar with the area, this place could be difficult to find. Really small shop, big selection. Their selection was excellent, but nothing different than what I could find in Simpsonville. Prices seemed fair. They do growler fills and the tap list was great. If you're in the area, it's worth the stop.

This place can be a pain in the arse to find, but well worth the effort. Parking is best in one of the nearby garages - I lucked out and parked in front, but could stay only 15 minutes. Service is first-rate - the fellow pointed me straight to some excellent South Carolina brews, and managed to get me out in time. He even came after me when I left my oh-so-important beers tried list hardcopy behind - extra point there! Prices appear to be reasonable. I hope that next time I visit Greenville I can spend more time in this great beer boutique.

Cool little place downtown, good selection of uncommon local stuff, growler fills, Thursday tasting...the staff can be a little condescending, but that's to be expected when you're not a regular customer

Best craft beer store in Greenville. Devin and Andrew are both super knowledgable and helpful and will help everyone find the perfect beer for their tastes. Also has the best selection of foreign beers in the whole state. I've been to other beer stores in other states and when they hear that I am from Greenville they don't even bother showing me the foreign section because it's not as good as GBX. Worth going out of your way to find.

Great selection of domestics and imports. Lots of "famous names" I haven't seen in other places. Staff was helpful, if not eager. Good glassware to choose from, and beer was fresh, too.

While small, GBE has an amazing inventory, which they also keep updated online. I've been there 3 times, and each time was a great experience. The staff is always helpful, knowledgeable and professional. Just give them your list and they'll fix you right up.

Went today on the way home from Phish tour. Got two cases of Westbrook Gose.
They had an amazing selection and also have a growler fill station. Tilquin PLUM! on the shelf. No food. Guy carried the beer out to the street for me after I purchased and went to pull the car around. Will definitely go back to play a round of disc golf in town and eat some food and spend even more $$$. Great neighbourhood. A must go. Parking is not so great but who cares it's worth it.

I started to buy good craft beer here when they first opened and for a few years after that...but the obnoxious frat boy service from really uninformed idiots finally drove me away to Community Tap as my primary craft beer provider, despite the fact that they don't have the same volume of selection. After refusing to fill growlers I've had filled at dozens of different locations prior and their ineptness of the beers they were selling we're enough to make me go elsewhere, but after being forced to listen to the then manager of the store ramble on about how his taste's were world class and mine were less than average, while waiting to check me out, I respectfully told him I didn't think I'd ever visit his store again...he blew up at me and went on a more than unprofessional tie raid as I walked out on him. Never stepped back in and never will. Most folks in town only put up with these morons and this place because its so close to Barley's.

Talk about surprising - the best beer store I've ever visited is located in downtown Greenville. I'm originally from California where I grew accustomed to pretty great beer stores, having recently moved to the area I was definitely not expecting to have access to the same kinds of beer and beer knowledge.
Zack was extremely helpful in locating some interesting new beers to try, and his suggestions did not disappoint. Do yourself a favor and check it out, and be sure to chat with the employees and ask for suggestions, they are very knowledgable and happy to help.
Also, free beer tastings on Thursdays.
