A - Dark burgundy / raisin color with very thick toffee colored, frothy and very sticky on the sides of the glass.
S - Dark fruit, prunes, dates, figs.
T - Dark fruit from start to finish: prunes, figs, some toasted toffee on the back end, balances finish that leans more towards the sweet side. Some spice and alcohol midway through and at 13% some alcohol does surface, but never takes over.
M - A little thin for the style.
O - This beer is rock solid, thanks for sharing this bottle, Trav!!

After a few free samples, the employee at Bier asked if I would like to buy a bottle of Sanitarium. I said sure, only to find out later is was $20 or $25. I was a bit skeptical at first, but after cellaring for a few months, I opened it and was very happy. I shared it with some friends and they all loved it. A lot of dark fruit taste that constantly changed as the beer warmed. I will definately buy another bottle next year.
