I've now stopped by a few times to get this to take home. I'll be stocking it often.

You do pick up the banana - clove taste. A very drinkable beer. Several of the beers coming out of this brewery are very, very good.

grabbed this one a few hours ago during my first visit to a new small batch brewery in indianapolis.

poured cold from the growler an opaque honey'd gold to a dogfish head shaped pint glass with a 1/2 finger slightly off white head with a nice bit of retention.

great big hefe aroma of yeasts, ripe banana, and spice (cloves?), very pleasant.

bready yeasts way up front, followed closely by banana, spices and a hint of bubblegum - super big, chewy hefe. this is a really nice brew. very satisfying.

big bodied, medium carbonation, sweet, hints of sour in the super dry finish.

drinkability - absolutely. great tasting + 4.4abv, this is a serious session beer.

* my first beer from bier and i don't mind saying another couple as good as this one and i'm sold.

The color is good, strong yellow-gold with some haze. A short white head, some lacing. The nose is quiet, and the yeast is mostly missing here, with the main odor being of fermented grains. But the taste, particularly as it warms a bit, comes in with banana and bubble gum, particularly the latter, delivering some of my favorite flavors in a Hefe. The feel is super clean, and overall I think this is an extraordinary rendition of the German style. Great to have this one in the city, and I need to add this to my list of regulars.

Pours an attractive golden brown, with light lacing. Smells and tastes somewhere in between a German hefeweizen and a Belgian dubbel, with good wheated notes in addition to some light Belgian esters that add a small bit of spice. A very nice, smooth witbier that is an easy drinker for summer. Not exceptional or a real standout in any particular way, however.

Appearance: Cloudy hazy golden served in a proper weizen glass at Tin Man Brewery on a cold Winter’s evening. Small head and lace.

Aroma: Kinda funky, with definite accents of clove and fruity yeast. Pretty faithful here.

Taste: Spicy, with hints of banana, bubblegum and clove and yeast. Pretty solid, easily drinkable beer and close enough to a real German hefe to impress. I’d have another of these, no problem. Well-done, Bier!
