On tap at the local pub.
Pour is copper in color with 1 finger of thick white foam. Nice lace grips the glass the entire way down.
Smell is hops and citrus very basic for a pale ale. I'm convinced after all these years that having the true "basic qualities" of a pale ale is not a bad thing!!!
Taste follows well from the smell. Hoppy bitterness with citrus notes on the finish. Great fresh, clean, and crisp taste! PDG holds up to its name here!
Overall a good example of the style by. A brewery that's growing in popularity in my area. I'll be buying more of this.

so it turns out that the pretty darn good pale is, well, pretty darn good! imagine that. my first beer from bier, and while its not super creative or attention getting, it is a very tasty pale ale. very light amber hue to this one, a touch of crystal 60 probably gives it that color, and the head is short, white, and lasting. sturdy pale ale from the nose of it, lots of high alpha american hops and just enough rich grain to balance. a honey roasted almond flavor on the front end, quite unique coming from grain, and a cool place for the hops to take off from. cascade or something similar, delicate but resinous, with only moderate bitterness, all in the finish. i like the fuller body on this, it takes a long time to taste it all the way through, and the fullness of it makes that journey worth taking. carbonation is soft but sufficient, and in the end, the grain is as interesting as the hops. not going to shake anything up with this brew, but i love the balance, and would absolutely drink this regularly if it were available here. true to its name.
