Canned July 2016; drank 8/11/16 @ the Yarchives.
Brown/black appearance.
A violent pour yielded a big, noisy dark tan head; decent lace.
Banana, burnt caramel & pickle juice notes in the nose.
Medium mouthfeel.
Banana, burnt oak & dry pickle juice flavors up front; faint cherry notes emerged as this warmed.
Fairly unpleasant fresh; I can only hope time would mellow the awfulness.

8 oz undated can poured into a becher glass at fridge temp 10.5% ABV 86 IBU per can. The beer pours dense black with sticky, persistent light brown head. The head recedes to a thin cap and leaves behind some lacing. Aroma is roasted malt, coffee and dark chocolate. The taste is smooth dark chocolate and roast malt transitioning to a semisweet yet bitter finish. Mouthfeel is full bodied, adequately carbonated and mostly dry in the finish. Overall, very good. This is the best beer I've had from Flat 12. Nice RIS.

Undated July '16 can. Poured black, modest head that disappeared pretty quick. N: Burned marshmallow, boozy. T: Malty, sweet, chocolate & coffee, then big, hoppy, bitter lingering finish. Felt thicker than many, really liked the way it transitions from smooth/sweet to boozy/hoppy/bitter.

Poured from the 8oz can (perfect size for an imperial stout). Aroma of rich fudge and ground coffee beans. Hint of booze as it warms. I get a bitter, roasted barley finish, a lot of like unsweetened chocolate. Quite a finishing kick, very bitter.

In a world of stouts, this is likely an average base RIS but he variants add lots of great flavor profiles. The original Pinko is very tasty and easily one of the better stouts brewed in Indy.

Big, dark pour with half finger laced caramel head, quick to dissipate. Smells of caramel malt, mixture of dark roast malt and chocolate, slightly ashy/peaty, slightly boozy.
Tastes of dark cocoa, semi-peat, not that strong of an alcohol taste, which is good. Dangerous to drink as you you'd expect more of an alcohol presence. 10% abv? ok, now i'm feeling it...
