Pours a near black with very minimal head formation. Nose is bourbon, chocolate milk, Milk Duds, salty licorice. Taste tilts pretty strong on the sweet side; definitely loads of milk chocolate, but cola sweetness as well; very light bourbon notes, but more what you'd expect from a BBQ sauce - none of the boozy notes of the barrel are really present. Mouthfeel is thick with minimal carbonation. A bit one note, but probably enjoyable for those that like sweet stouts.

Update;
I just tried this again not realizing I had reviewed it before.
I came here to say I liked it and that's when I saw that I crapped on it earlier.
Odd.
I guess try it with a little buzz like I have now
Not half bad. Gotta update these numbers
I don't know where all the love is coming from. This crap is pretty nasty. Syrupy and boozy. Has that bourbon barrel taste and not a good bourbon at all. I don't taste chocolate or coffee. Just a rotten sticky sweet and alcohol. Even the buzz I have after drinking 2 before typing this review isn't giving my score a bump.

12oz canned 2/10/21 (about 18 months ago) poured into a tulip pint glass at fridge temp 11.5% ABV. The beer pours very dense black with minimal light penetration and light brown head. The head recedes to a pencil thin ring and island of tiny bubbles. No lacing. The aroma is mild with sweet fudge like chocolate and roasted malt. The taste is bittersweet roasted malt with notes of coffee, chocolate fudge, and earthy, moderate bitterness. The mouthfeel is full bodied with just less that average carbonation and a semi dry finish. No hint of 11.5% ABV in the aroma or taste. Overall, very good.

Thick beige head. Creamy looking. Streaks on the glass. Near black color where some light passes only along the edge.
Creamy milk with dark, Baker's chocolate. Some alcohol.
Boozy with lactose sweetness. The chocolate remains strong but in the background. Brandy like aftertaste.

absolutely love anytime i can find these on the shelves, which happens to be quite often. what a world to live in. poured from the can into a pint glass, this thing is dark, with no light at all shining through. a pretty massive tan head forms atop and settles into a thick and sticky foam, with good clumps of lacing settling on the sides. the aroma is a big punch of bakers chocolate, coffee and roasted malts with a underlying bit of tobacco, vanilla and more chocolate. the taste follows through and really hits with the sweetness right away, with a ton of dark chocolate and candied fruit notes, blending with a touch of black coffee, very toasted malt, vanilla and some smoke. there's a nice earthy hop bitterness on the backend that keeps this from being a cloying adventure, and leaves a very pleasant and very lingering aftertaste. it's sticky and full-bodied, and only allows the tiniest hint of its 11.5% abv after it has warmed a good bit. a solid sipper of a stout that keeps itself in line. getchya sum!

Day 6 of the 12 Beers of Christmas box from Iron and Glass. A very, very good beer, and I’m not the biggest coconut fan. Dark with strong lacing. Roasted malt and coconut sweetness meld well together on the smell and taste. There are vanilla and chocolate notes that make their presence known as well. Bold, big bodied, and boozy. Has a slight oily finish. Sweet, flavorful, balanced, and just damn tasty. This is an excellent stout, and much better than the score indicates.

L: Pours black amber with a sticky 2 inch tan head.
S: Soft acidic bite, caramel hints at what's to come. A bit of tang.
Taste: Whoa. Vanilla predominant, molasses, toffee, coffee, STICKY on the palette.
Feel: Full tongue saturation, heavy fizz, and again, STICKY!!
Overall: Flavor is intense. For an 11.5% brew, goes down like candy. This brew has spoiled me rotten!

Big coffee on the nose, a bit green peppery, roasty and strong. Flavor too is strong, some coconut and a little banana. Thick as fuck, almost syrupy. Sweet but bitter enough to keep it in check.

Pours Blackish/Brown but not overly thick.
Roasty flavor with subtle Chocolate that lingers then finishes with a tobacco/molasses finish.
For an 11% beer it does not taste like it. Goes down pretty smooth.
