Very Good
Brew CockyBrew Cocky
Notes: Brew Cocky is another IPA I came up with that is brewed with loads and loads of Falconers Flight hops that just explode in your face.

Pours a orange hue with a nice thick white head that dissipates but not completely. Really released the aromas very nicely.

Smell is of citrus, grapefruit in particular and pine. Slightly sweet tinge to the aroma.

Taste follows the nose with notes of grapefruit and a touch of piney bitterness on the finish. There is a sweetness to the beer that is thankfully cut by the mild hop bitterness on the finish. Balancing the hops and citrus flavors is a nice malt undertone that is never overly noticeable, but provides a balance and depth to the beer.

Feel was mildly carbonated and very drinkable. However, I think this beer would benefit from a bit more carbonation as it lacks a crispness to it that would compliment the flavor profile.

Overall a very nice DIPA - my second 2nd Shift beer and a much better offering. We all had a laugh over the juvenile name on this one. Really?

The locals really hyped this beer so I decided to try it.

It's okay.

If I was not from Vermont, I might have been more excited about the taste of this beer.

Pours a burnt orange into a tulip. The nose has some sweet fruit, pineapple and pine resin. The body is sweet and slightly malt forward with a lingering bitterness in the finish. The body was hardly carbonated though and I would have liked more carbonation. It was a bit flat.

pretty sure i read this is the last batch of these from 2nd shift, so glad i'm finally getting to try it out. loads of hops indeed. dumped from a trusty can a mostly clear amber, with a big white head that has slowly shrunk to a decent sized foam cap, bits of sticky lacing behind. nose is absolutely huge, with a ton of grapefruit, pine and almost honey like sweetness. exactly what i want from an ipa like this. sadly that doesn't quite come through in flavor, with the same grapefruit, pine, honey and caramel sweetness, and a hop bitterness that cuts down on some of that sweet malt. never gets overpowering but on the same note is a little too subdued. medium bodied and nicely carbonated, this is way too drinkable for being 9% and probably bordering dangerous for me

Poured into a tulip glass from a 750ml bottle.

Pours a very nice looking dark amber color with some nice cooper hints and orange edges. A nice soft ecru 1 inch head forms that is nice and dense and sticky. Very good looking brew. With some chunkier bubbles sprinkled around.

Aroma is amazing. This is definitely a citrus hop bomb. Very nice aroma of oranges and grapefruit with some nice sweet fruit juice notes. Awesome slightly piney notes as well. Very herbal, grassy and dank hop notes. There is some nice tangerine in there as well and there are some slight biscuit and slightly sweet malt notes in the background that struggle to shine through. Very excited to try this one.

Amazing explosion of citrus on this one. Tons of orange notes and some nice tangerine and grapefruit. Some nice fruit sweetness mixed in with the citrus-ness and bitterness. This is a special brew. Very intense hop notes that are well crafted. Little in the way of balance but thats ok for me. The malt bill seems to play it safe in the background with some bready grain notes and thats about it. Definitely a hop forward beer tat is still delicious. Mouthfeel is nice and crisp and clean with a sticky resinous finish and some nice dry bitter notes.

This is a great brew the 2nd SHift guys are doing a great job with these IPAs. This is top notch in my book.

750ml bottle. Poured out a slightly hazy, golden orange color with a small, white head of foam. It smelled of pine, grapefruit, mango and caramel. Nice tropical fruit taste with a bitter bite. Sweet toasted caramel backbone.
