I was excited to see a 2nd Shift gose, especially since I'm a fan of their Katy. The aroma was very promising for a delicious salty sour-apple taste, but very disappointing flavor. I thought at first maybe something was wrong with my batch, but it looks like other reviews confirm this is a very, VERY mild gose. I'll finish my 750ml, but I won't be getting this again.

i dont love this one as much as i have loved other beers from these guys in the past. the bottles were seriously under seven bucks though, so how could i not take a chance on it? its good beer, nice proportions on the salt and coriander for sure, and fluffy from the wheat, bone dry, and super carbonated, it has a lot going for it, but for me, the sour and wild part is real weird on the yeast front, its cheesy and dirty, rushed in some way, less clean than this should be, less sharp even, less refreshing, not awesome. its fine for a few sips, but the weird with the acid gets strange after a glass, and the bottle ends up being a lot to finish because i never quite get into this flavor, which is all in the finish and very much at the expense of the other awesome elements in it. the coriander is cool, fresh and spicy in its own unique way, and there are some hops that are accentuated by a higher than average salt content. with a cleaner sourness to this it would be awesome, but i always have really high hopes with new beer from these guys, and this one just wasnt there all the way in my opinion...

On tap at Bridge in St. Louis.

Light yellow with a ring of minuscule bubbles. Smells lightly sweet, salty, a little like a pickle. Salty vinegar with deep but light sweetness. It's all the elements of a light wheat beer with a light pucker and saltiness. It is thin and cleanses with little lingering sourness or flavor.

This was brewed in the style of goses that I prefer, I just didn't fucking like it as much as others. The mouthfeel and puny taste had as much charisma as a wet dishrag. I would drink it on a hot day though.

While this was definitely pleasant, it is quite tame for a gose. Moderately tart with hints of apple in the background and just an ever so slight finish of salt. If just looking to get into gose, this is a great place to start, but it wouldn't satisfy a veteran of the style.

Clear to faintly hazy, light yellow color. Tall white foam that settles relatively quickly. Strong carbonation. Coriander in the aroma. Light coriander flavor, mildly salty, and sour. Citrusy aftertaste. Refreshing and easy drinking.

Brilliant golden hue with excellent clarity. The clarity was very cloudy much later on in the latter half of the bottle! Vibrant carbonation bubbles are present and yet there is no head whatsoever. Aroma is that of lightly acidic apples, light malt, and salt. The taste is light doughy malt, just a touch of coriander, and salt. There's the lightly acidic apple note in the fade. The salty and bubbly mouthfeel is refreshing. This pairs amazingly with pretzels.

A- Very transparent golden light yellow, no lacing.

S- Lemon tart, salty, some light funk in the background.

T- Lemon tart and salty, following the nose. A bit watery at the end.

M- Some carb in there, that popping carb that numbs your tongue a bit. Light and watery a bit.

O- It was ok, probably the lower end gose execution that I have had, but it was pleasant on a July day!

Had this Organic Saison at the Bridge. Poured from the tap a slightly hazy yellow-gold with two fingers of white head. A good amount of sticky lacing left behind.

Aroma of sour cherry and tart green apple along with Belgian yeast and an earthy funk.

The sour cherry notes really came through on this one followed by green apple, yeast and fresh earth.

Medium bodied and a bit sticky with a crisp carbonation.

A decent Saison from 2nd Shift but not quite there with the best. The sour cherry notes tended to overwhelm the accompanying flavors.
