My wife and I visited this brewery to try their beers. (There is no food here.) The place is located in an older industrial section of town with narrow streets and minimal parking. There is a front building with the brewery's name on it, but the taproom is located in a larger structure to the rear of the property, and a beer garden takes up a portion of the parking lot. (There are some parking spaces adjacent to it.) In the taproom the vibe is industrial in a large open space, and several foeders line one side wall. A long bar is at the rear, and the tap list is projected on the wall above it. Printed tap lists are on the bar too. We sat at the bar and had excellent service, although the place was not busy at mid-afternoon on a Friday.
We wanted to evaluate as many of their beers as we could in a single visit, however, sampler flights are not available. But they will do a half pour of regular menu beers, which are 12 ounce pours, and charge half price. So we ended up having only 4 beers of the 16 that were available (about 20 cans of other beers are also available). There was a good variety of styles available. All of the beers that we had were very well brewed to style so the we ended up grading them at a B+ level. The most notable one that we had was the Grapevines which is brewed with Norton grapes and soured with Brett yeast. Wine is also available here. Beer is also available in cans to go. I'd really like to revisit this brewery if I'm ever in the area again.

Large garage space with a good deal of outdoor seating, too. Long bar in the back with a digital draft list. Coolers with single cans for to-go sales. They had some great beers on tap that are hard to find in stores. Everything I tried was delicious and well done.

During my trip to STL, I probably spent the least amount of time here over the other breweries I visited. It's a nice open space, almost merging with the brewery itself and separating guests from the "hardware" only with stacks on stacks of barrels. A very cool look. A good, varied menu in terms of beer (didn't try the food). All in all, not a whole lot to be said as interactions and time spent was brief, but a great experience in general.

Intriguing space as you pull up, with the brewery itself sitting back away from the street in a 'courtyard' of sorts. Within the lot is a large tin garage as well. Interior of the brewery is huge, with high walls leading up to high ceilings - a space setup for potentially 18 wheeler repair kinda size. Immediately upon entry the eyes are drawn to a wall of barrels stacked ceiling high which form a 'wall' between the taproom and brewery. Seating is an array of 4 top tables sprawled from the doorway to the bar. Bar is on the 'short' side of the taproom, opposite the door, offering up perhaps two handfuls of seats. Quality is high, with the space being well cared for and clean albeit pretty industrial. Selection is great as well, hitting across 2nd Shift's brewing spectrum along with Stag - for those not out to seek craft.

i always dig when i can make it to 2nd shift. unfortunately, my travels don’t always allow it but it’s such a fun place. on the hill, kind of open garage / hangar type vibe with the bar in the back that’s pretty much just for ordering drinks from but there’s plenty of seating and the barrel racks (i assume they’re empty barrels but not 100% on that) kind of divide the room in half. there’s a nice outdoor seating area. the servers are very friendly and there’s usually quite the selection from stouts (both barrel-aged and fresh) to farmhouse ales and IPAs to lagers.

The most underrated brewery in STL. The beer here is always good, old school emphases without flashy flairs. Generic old warehouse brewery vibe but the trinkets are fun in a cichy way, and the patio is sublime. Service is never in a hurry but they know and want to talk about their beer, are friendly, and pour well. Selection has always had some BA treats available to go with plenty of lighter and hoppier options, but don't miss the to-go section, sneaky great hiding in the corner.

I visited 2nd Shift while I was in St. Louis last week. It is a great place; 12 taps, representing a wide variety of styles, plus guest cider and wine. It's got a cool industrial build-out with lots of barrels stacked around, which I always like to see. The beers I had were quite good; it's definitely worth visiting if you're in town. Plus: they have a brewery cat!

Close to my buddy's house in St Louis. Nice open space, barrels right in full view, with a friendly neighborhood cat. Family friendly. Lots of board games to play with. A truly cool place to hang out with friends. Plenty of good beer available on draft and in bottles to go. Nice staff, friendly and accommodating.

Final brewery stop on a visit to St Louis on Metallica weekend. Large place, all seats were taken on a Sunday afternoon for Bingo! (Good for them!) Had a brief chat with the owner, who I later saw twice at the Metallica concert, amazingly, out of 50,000+ people at Busch Stadium. 2nd shift has some nice beers, and I would definitely visit again if I'm in St Louis.

its awesome these guys have moved into saint louis proper now, and their new place is really cool. they have a ton of space in here (once you find parking), and its very relaxed and casual, with a dividing wall built out of in use barrels running right down the center of it to break up the tap room side and the production space. a long bad runs across the back, and it all feels very mellow, comfortable, and blue collar. they had a nice range of beers on, maybe ten total flowing on tap, but everything from imperial stouts to wild saisons, and all the beer in here excellent. i absolutely loved a ronnie james pedio beer that was a wood aged collaboration with against the grain, seriously incredible beer. the cat spit coffee stout was also delightful. the folks in here are some of the best in the game, super fun to chat with, they know their stuff, and for how good it all is, nobody is taking anything too seriously, i love that vibe. nice to see them super busy when i was in too. they have some rather minimal food, but it tastes pretty good. for me though, its all about the beers in here, definitely some of the finest in the area, and it was a great experience to visit their new operation. one of my favorite sessions in recent memory.

Before heading to an NHL game, my wife and I dropped into this brewery. We It is located on the outskirts of the Hill neighborhood, and was easy to find. Parking, however, was difficult. There were limited spaces, and the brewery was packed. We circled several times before finding a parking place. Inside, the tasting room was large, with plenty of tables and a bar at the far end. They had an impressive tap selection, and the production brewery is located in the same large building. High ceilings...well lit...attentive staff, in spite of it being really busy. I had an IPA and a gose. Both were excellent. Patrons were talkative and friendly, as was the bar-staff. Unfortunately, there was no food offering. All in all, though, it was a great place to drop in for a beer.
