Huge raspberry nose jumping out of the glass. Tastes like chocolate dipped raspberry. There are vanilla and oak notes as well as some balance from the bourbon. The raspberry really shines here.

Finally got to tick this brew, during Haymarket's 5th Anniversary Party (I flew out to Chicago, from Delaware), just for the chance to try this legend. And it did not disappoint! Rich, lush, velvety, full-bodied chocolate raspberry stout, with excellent depth, body, and mouthfeel. And I got to meet Clare & Pete as well. Fabulous experience. If you like chocolate and raspberry in your stout, this is the best one out there, so go get some!

Look: Pitch black, dark khaki head that quickly dissipates leaving a bit of lining, medium carbonation.

Smell: My lord. A metric f***ton on raspberry (obviously), french vanilla, dark chocolate, a lot of bourbon sweetness.

Taste: The most fruit I've ever gotten out of a stout, even more than fresh BCBS Bramble. Super strong raspberry, a bit of roastiness towards the back end, decadent dark chocolate truffle, vanilla, sweetness bordering on playfully cloying, a bit of tartness. Jammy as f'. You're doing yourself a disservice if you don't allow this to warm up and open up. Incredible.

Mouthfeel: Heavy but not Bourbon County heavy. Loads of residual sugars, smooth with a surprising touch of prickly carbonation. The beer definitely coats the tongue.

had 2016 batch last night at their Birthday party.. pours a normal dark brown black stout color with a little deep mocha head... smell is huge raspberries at first.. then it warms and it smells like straight bourbon... when you taste it is like a raspberry jam with chocolate on your taste buds.. its like a very good bourbon barrel aged stout and New Glarus Raspberry Tart had a beer baby... really really awesome..
