It's nice to have a place like this in the West Loop. Good and easy location to get to.

The layout is nice with a long bar divided from a dining room area. The bar gets crowded at busy hours with people trying to move and you find yourself dodging people if you can't find a place at the bar. The actual dining area is great. A nice comfortable place to sit with a group and enjoy some beers.

The service is good. A host is awaiting you to try and find you a table. I usually check in and have a beer from the bar while I wait. The service is kind and quick.

They have the essentials in terms of selection. They have nice examples of beers and carry many good beers. However, if you are looking for a surplus of selection, you can find places with a larger beer menu.

The one downfall of this place is their food. I have had multiple things from their menu, and each time I have not been impressed by the food. I would be content getting their chili as my meal from now on.

Overall, a good feel, selection, and service. Good beer, mediocre food.

The wife and I attempted to have brunch at Le Cheval in the busy restaurant row of Randolph Street, but the waits were insane. And seemingly every place we tried was either too busy or closed on Sundays. So we gave up on fine food and went the beer way at Haymarket.

I expected this place to be a mainstream beer joint for the masses but was surprised at all the quality brews they had: eleven taps, ranging from a pilsner to a barrel-aged barleywine, plus 10 guest taps.

I particularly enjoyed the Mathias DIPA and the Clare's barleywine aged in Woodford Reserve barrels.

Beers are served in 4-12-16-20-32-64 ounces (love the variety!). Service was really nice bartender the pimento cheese spread we had was top-notch. Will revisit, they are serious.

Located in the old meat packing district in Chicago. Cool space, actually feels like a bar. Each beer is better than the next, have plenty of cocktails available to. Food is amazing, definitely get the sausage plate w/ pretzels and the house mustard. Service was good, please leave your man buns at home. Can't go wrong with a trip to the market.

Good spot, about a dozen or so of their own offerings which were all pretty good and quite a few guest taps. Its nice that they have 4,8,12,16,20oz pours so you can do as you wish. Was here at opening on New Years Day so pretty quiet.

Went after lunch on a Wednesday and the place was about 3/4 full with 3 servers working. Had the worst service at any brewery I've ever been to. We sat for 10 minutes before a guy that was not our server came to our table. He took our beer orders and said he would pass it to our server who was supposedly swamped but able to carry conversations with some tables. Took another 20 minutes to get our beer after we had to remind someone to remind our server to get us beer and finally come by!. There was a good selection with 7 taps for Haymarket brews and the rest being guest taps. Beer was ok. Nothing stand out and nothing worth waiting 30 minutes for. Not coming back and I'd just recommend everyone go to Revolution or Half Acre instead for way better beer and service.

Haymarket is a gem in the West Loop of Chicago. Always a great selection of brewed-in-house beers along with decent guest drafts. The prices are extremely reasonable for the quality of beer and I love that you can enjoy 4oz pours of anything without any hassle whatsoever. The food menu is somewhat on the shorter side, but extremely solid.

Bottom line is that in a city like Chicago where bars and breweries are plentiful, this one still stands out as one of my absolute favorites. Anytime a BA beer is on the menu it's going to be a must have. GREAT SPOT!

Very nice tap list at this brewpub - about a dozen Haymarket brews and probably another 10-12 guest taps. We came for the Mathias DIPA, which was very good, but there are other quality brews as well. A good place to hang out while waiting for a table at the Girl & the Goat.
