Notes / Commercial Description:
The West Coast comes to Jax with this extremely hoppy, true India Pale Ale. Our two-row malted barley and caramel malt come to life with a [email protected]!#-ton of Northwest hops. We use 4 different hops during the brewing process and during dry hopping. It’s music to your nose.

Reviewed from notes. Had on-tap at CCB Brewpub. Served in a pint glass.

A: Clear gold with a thin white head atop moderate visible carbonation.

S: Pine and melon-spice hops over lightly sweet bready malts.

T: Follows the nose. This is quite balanced without having an excessive amount of caramel malt flavor, which is a plus for me. Moderate pine bitterness in the hang

M: Average body for style, minimal alcohol presence, carbonation on the low side for style.

O: Enjoyable, but nothing I'd actively seek out again.

I poured this from the can into a tulip style glass. There was three fingers of foam with some stickyness. The lacing was light over the orange beer. This beer is relatively clear.

The nose on this beer has nice flowering hops. It isn't a hop bomb, just some lighter hop presence on the top.

The flavor on this beer is decent. It has some citrus and a some malt in there. The balance is a little off. This beer is pretty good. I would like to try this on tap to compare to the canned version.

Pours a surprisingly red color, clearly favoring caramel malt. Head production and retention are good.

On the nose, there's a pleasant presentation of pine and citrus; very old-school, West Coast style hop selection.

Flavor follows: caramel malt backbone presenting toast and brown sugar, and classic hops yielding notes of pine, resin, grapefruit, and orange.

Crisp, lively, enough body to feel satisfying without becoming syrupy or thick.

Most Florida craft IPAs have been extremely disappointing to me (with the notable exception of Jai Alai). This one stands out. Not quite world class, but a very tasty brew.

This had tons of life with loads of bubbly carbonation but the color seemed a tad light. The color was somewhere between a yellow and an orange but relatively clear.

The aromas were strong on the onion, earthy, humid forest type but then turned fruity with grapefruit and orange rind. Very interesting.

The flavor seemed less diverse with a floral start and an orange rind finish. The finish is quite bitter with a harsh and astringent feel.

It's always tricky to review beers that seem to be well received but your experience is not up to that standard. I'll have to try it again in hopes I find it better.

Pours a clear medium orange with big soapy offwhite head, big clump in the middle of the glass sticks around, blobs of lace lining the glass. Smell: quite resiny, floral / perfume, stone fruit and light caramel back. Taste: juicy peach, pine, citrus rind, wheat biscuit. Sweet, resin and prickly bitterness in the finish. Canned 4/2. Worth a try. (To me this doesn't have any of the "bad Summit" aspects, to which I'm usually very sensitive).
