Poured into a Duvel tulip. Bottom of can says 07/13/16.

A- Pours a slightly hazy medium amber color with a 1/2 inch off-white head that retains well before becoming a thick ring around the edge of the glass and a mostly full sheet of surface foam. Resilient lacing leaves a solid ring behind.

S- Interesting aroma of sweet malt and earthy hops that, together, reminds me of ginger for some reason. Also a bit of honey.

T- More malt with some orange notes from the hops. Bitterness is pretty mild and there's an interesting sweet in the front, dry in the back duality. The alcohol is very well concealed and there's enough resinous pine character to keep things from getting boring.

M- Somewhat sharp from the hops with medium carbonation and a body leaning toward the fuller side.

O- Decent enough with no particular flaws, though those looking for any citrus will be sorely disappointed. This is definitely more malt driven which I happen to not mind from time to time.

Poured from a 16 OZ can into a pint glass.
Aroma- Has a nice hop smell with some citrus tossed in
Appearance- A murky copper color with a thick white head.
Taste- A nice hop flavor with some citrus and a little spice. real good
Palate- A medium bodied beer with moderate carbonation. Has a dry finish with a hop bite.
Overall- A surprisingly good American DIPA. I liked the color and flavor and the can is pretty cool to look at.

16 oz. can. Clear orange. I don't smell much. Resiny pine hops. Some grapefruit. Some caramel malt. Taste is more defined. Strong malt presence. Caramel and bready malts. Strong resiny pine hop flavor. Quickly builds in bitterness. Pine hop bitterness lingers in the finish. Medium heavy. Not a hop bomb by any means, but it's a decent IPA.

22 oz bottle into a tulip glass.

Pours a clear copper, with a finger of rich bright-white head. This retains with a frothy ½ finger, leaving back a foamy cascade of lacing that hangs in thick swathes down the sides. This has a nice look. The aroma smells leafy, spicy, herbal, and a bit piney but there overall isn’t a whole lot of airiness here to the nose. This mixes in with a ripe tropical sweetness and more malty notes of caramel and toast. Green grapefruit and alcohol warmth rise up from underneath; giving this a touch of bitter aggression. It’s the herbal and fruit tones that are probably standing out to me the most here though.

The taste is juicy tropical fruit, caramel, toast, and a herbal feel, which surrounds a more assertive core of grapefruit and pine. These transitions into a resinous and pithy finish that is intensified by the alcohol on the tail end of this. The mouthfeel is medium to fuller bodied, with a slick firm creaminess that really features the oils and herbal textures from those hops. This is unfortunately showing a bit too much of its alcohol, especially along the back and in the finish.

I didn’t have quite as much luck with this one as I did with their regular IPA from here. I think that the ABV could be dialed back some, as the excessive warmth here just doesn’t jive with the herbal and tropical flavors and ends up emboldening the more assertive aspects of the hops to an almost unenjoyable extent at times. The fresh pop of the hop flavors at times was fine here but they really need to work on the overall drinkability of this some more.

I was extremely excited when I saw this beer because it was a cool can, I am a hophead, I love 2x IPA's and it is brewed less than anhour from my house. First of all, I was not unsatisfied with the beer, but I expected a little more flavor and boldness. The IBU's are insane but you really do not get the whole effect of that when drinking. It pours a nice frothy head and is a brilliant orange/amber, but cloudy. The flavor is full of hops, but something seems to be missing. It is a great brew, but I think a little more refinement from this very new brewery will come with time

A big thanks to the legendary woodychandler for this beer. Poured from a 16 oz. can. Has a beige color with a 1 inch head. Smell is balnaced citrus hops and caramel malts. Taste starts off very hoppy, some citrus, caramel malts at the end. Bitter and desert dry. Feels medium bodied in mouth and overall is a good quality beer.
