22oz. bottle.
Very hazy amber; Decent off-white head

Wonderful smell mixes lime with fresh baked bread.

The flavor is much less balanced, with the lime components dominating. Good sweet/bitter/sour balance, with all three present at near equal levels.

Refreshing. Light body with appropriate medium carbonation.

22oz bottle - wow, that's a lotta limes! Also made with kaffir lime leaves and lemongrass.

This beer pours a glassy, medium golden yellow colour, with two chubby fingers of puffy, finely foamy, and somewhat creamy eggshell white head, which leaves a bit of streaky rain on the windshield lace around the glass as it quickly bleeds away.

It smells of zingy fresh limes, spicy lemongrass, grainy and doughy pale malt, a bit of estery yeast, and more leafy and hay-like hop bitterness. The taste is crackery and doughy pale malt, acidic key lime pie, earthy lemongrass, and more herbal, leafy, and slightly floral green hoppiness.

The carbonation is quite hefty in its palate-coating frothiness, the body a respectable middleweight, and actually fairly smooth, with maybe a wee spiciness taking the sheen off of things here. It finishes off-dry, the robust malt still fending off the lime and lemongrass advances.

Overall, it seems that the guest ingredients do go a long way in obfuscating the underlying Kölsch to a certain degree, but hey - 'Lime' comes first in the name, so what did we expect? Enough of the base beer character is present to prevent having to make alco-pop or sports drink analogies, thankfully. Refreshing and zesty, is what I'm taking away from this offering.

Poured from a 650ml bottle. Pours a slightly orangish yellow colour. A unique nose with herbaceous scents of funk, grass and citrus. Definitely reflects the ingredients list. Taste is similar with a big hit of tart lime. Spicy notes show up on the pleasantly dry finish. Any kolsch characteristics are pretty much obliterated by the lime and herb notes, but that's probably the point. This is fruity, light and refreshing.

22oz : tulip

Clear, golden-yellow with a thin, foamy white head.

Wow, some serious lime upfront in the nose, followed by some grassy notes and crackery malts.

The palate follows the nose, lime zest upfront with the base beer quite clear in the backing with grassy hops and a prominent, crackery malt base.

Medium bodied, foamy carbonation.

An interesting beer, plenty of lime. Enjoyable, though I don't really have a strong urge to have it again.

Served from the bottle into a pilsner glass

A- Poured a clear pale golden color with tons of streaming carbonation, soapy bright white head that left some spotty lace.

S- Very light aroma of lime and grassy notes.

T- Slightly acidic lime flavor and mint is most prominent, some grassy and fruity notes. Not much in the way of traditional Kolsch flavors, the Kolsch seems to serve as a blank template for the lime and herb additions.

M- Soft carbonation, lighter bodied, and pretty watery.

O- Not much complexity and definitely a lighter beer. It drinks like a really easy and nice craft alternative to Corona.

Pours a very light yellow with a foamy head. Smell isn't great. Smells like a Pilsner for sure. Taste is very light with a hint of lime. Nothing overpowering here. Feel like I should have cut the grass before drinking this. Ok. Won't seek it out again.

Wife's Review: "I like it. It is refreshing and the lime flavor is just right."

What we all wish a Corona with a lime would taste like. Good easy drinking seasonal had in bottle and on draft.
