This looks, tastes, smells, feels, and kicks exactly as an imperial IPA should. It's fantastic, and well worth the price tag.

Very solid, enjoyed this more than Stone 18. This was the perfect Imperial IPA. It came with he hops, the bitterness, the floral aspect, and a nice not over powering malt character.

22 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 8/11/2014. Pours slightly hazy deep golden color with a 2 finger dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of huge grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, mango, peach, lemon zest, orange peel, pine, floral, grass, light caramel, bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of juicy citrus/tropical hops and moderate malt sweetness; with good strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, mango, peach, lemon zest, orange peel, pine, floral, grass, light caramel, bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Moderate amount of pine/grassy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, mango, peach, lemon/orange zest, pine, light caramel, bread, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice complexity and robustness of juicy citrus/tropical hops and moderate malt sweetness; with a great malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a very smooth and fairly creamy/sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is an excellent DIPA style! All around great complexity and robustness of big citrus/tropical hops and moderate pale malt balance; and very smooth to drink for the big ABV. A very enjoyable offering.

Pours a hazy honey orange with a foamy orange-tan head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Foamy rings of lace line the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, citrus fruit, citrus zest, and slight tropical fruit aromas. Taste is much the same with citrus fruit and citrus zest flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of hop bitterness and an alcohol kick on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower good of carbonation with a crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a good beer with nice citrus forward aromas and flavors, but this one packs a punch that you can feel.

Served in a snifter on draft at the Union Brewhouse in Weymouth.

Appearance: A one finger head was poured that reduced to a thin layer. It is an orange color with great clarity and vision of bubbles coming up through the glass. Awesome lacing down the glass as the beer was drank.

Smell: Tropical, floral, citrus, grassy, pungent, tangerine, grapefruit, candied orange, toasted, caramel malts, and a little alcohol.

Taste: Same as above with mild tingly bitterness.

Mouthfeel: Smooth, medium to full bodied, medium carbonation, mild mild tingly bitterness, and just a hint of alcohol.

Overall: For an 18th anniversary, this was a delicious and fine choice. Got to get more of it before it disappears.

Shared bomber bottle.
Not great looking but a very drinkable DIPA with very good balance and near moderate bitterness. Light colored but ample malts.
Somewhat light body with medium+ carbonation.

Hop bill had me excited (citra, mosaic, nugget, and simcoe) but my first impression was it was a bit muddled. Really damn good for 10%, though.
