Poured out a clear, reddish amber color with a small, tan head of sudsy foam. It smelled very malty and piney. Strong roasty flavor, good piney bitterness.

Copper color, crystal clear. 2 fingers tall, frothy and off-white head. Diminishing to a small crown, decent lacing.
Nice fruity, moderate hop aroma upfront, some malty caramel.
Moderate bitterness and malty, caramel sweetness, pleasant moderate-high spicy hop flavor.
Medium body, oily, high carbonation, some sweetness lingering into a dry, long lasting finish, some alcohol in finish.

Tasty, well balanced

I'm trying a bottle of this at my bro-in-laws. It poured a clear amber with thin white head that is not leaving any lace. The scent was faint sweet malt. The taste is nicely balanced with sweet malt being the base. The Mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it's a good beer.

It definitely tastes more like an ipa rather than an amber ale, which took me by surprise. If you are a fan of amber ales and malts, you would probably do no harm by skipping this one. If you are an ipa fan, feel free to give this one a whirl.

From Zombier. In Teku glass. Watching Los Soprano 2x06. Balanced, with a nice caramel touch (not too agressive) and very drinkable. May be missing a bit of punch but is still pretty enjoyable

Clear amber body poured from a 12oz bottle into a mug boasts a 1/2in off-white head and leaves some lacing.
Aromas are faint but hop and stone fruit with a bread malt.
Taste is bitter hops and grassy backed by a caramel tinge that falls away to nothing. As it warms I sense the spice. I wouldn't call it clove, as the bottle claims, but something is back there.
Mouthfeel is surprisingly thin but coats the tongue. Medium carbonation. An ok amber ale.

They've got more mermaids in Coronado than in Chicago, so what do i know?

On-tap 5/20/2016 at Doherty’s Ale House in Warwick, RI, served in a tapered pint glass.

A: The beer is a deep coppery red color, with a short off-white head that fades slowly and leaves a thick lace on the glass.

S: The aroma contains caramelized malts, fruit and some hops.

T: The taste starts out bready with a hearty malt character up front. Then some sweet flavors of caramel and fruit come in. The hops presence is mild but complementary and brings a good balance. The after-taste is slightly sweet and slightly bready.

M: Crisp and smooth, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is slightly sticky.

O: Tasty, goes down easily, not too filling, decent kick, good representation of style, this is a solid beer to drink for a while.
