Part of a 9 part sampler

Warm ruby red/brown. Nice and clear. Limited head due to 4 oz glass. Nice sweet and hoppy smell. Flavor is stronger than in most of the other CBC beers. Well hopped with a thick caramel backbone. This is medium to full bodied. This is their flagship beer. Hearty. Drinkable. Fairly strong.

A pretty solid red ale with a nice ruby-tinged amber body and off-white head. Small lace deposits noted. The flavor is largely caramel maltiness, an attribute largely foretold in the aroma. Small hop notes peek through and make the balance with the malt an effective feature of the beer. Nice mouthfeel from the medium body with a clean, dry finish. Very drinkable ale.
