12 oz. bottle, bottled 09/07/15. Acquired a single bottle of this stuff as part of a mixed six pack at the local Binny's.

Poured into a Duvel tulip snifter.

A - Pours a deep dark amber red body. One finger of thin frothy off-white head that leaves excellent sheets of fluffy lacing. Looks very nice for what it is.

S - Aroma is of earthy herbal leafy hops with a twiggy / caramel malt backing. Subtle notes of fruit and dried berries, some yeast presence noticeable.

T - Taste is the same: earthy, herbal, twiggy. Notes of bright citrus fruits / piney hops, but a smooth caramel / toffee malt body gives way to a dry finish. Dry emulations of chocolate malt peek through, as it says on the bottle.

M - Feel is smooth & creamy, with a bitter, dry, resinous finish. Notes of lingering hops and dry caramel / chocolate malt continue on.

Overall, a fairly average Amber / Red ale from Coronado. Drinkable and flavorful stuff, but it's easy to look over it especially with the crowded craft beer market of today.

Poured from 12oz bottle into standard pint glass. No bottle/freshness date visible. Great Lacing.

L: Clear Amber. 1 1/2 finger head with solid retention.

S: Malt, slight toffee and caramel, herbal and floral hops. Very bready-yeasty.

T: Well balanced in hops and malt, similar notes to the smell. Caramel and toffee, floral and herbal.

F: Light bodied, easy on the tongue.

Attractive red appearance, good clarity, 1/2" off white head. Aroma did the lesser than average toast/roast of the red malts, but still dropped a relative amount of hop aroma.

Taste though reverted back to average land for style. Red malts, peat, moss, earth, cocoa. Not putting itself near the awesome hoppy 1st tier red ales out there.

Light,l with a great aroma, but still too watery for me. I guess I shouldn't have expected much from an ale, but it was too light.

Perfectly clear amber body, lazy carbonation, fizzy off-white head with lines of lace. Nose contains toasty malt and some mildly citric hop bitterness. Taste is much more developed but a bit mild, with hefeweizen-like banana and clove, toasted malt, fruitcake, and mild nutty toffee/caramel. Slight sweetness throughout, nicely bitter finish. Creamy mouthfeel, perfect carbonation.
Right on the edge of being an amazing beer but falls just short, into 'really great' territory. Despite banana and clove being flaws outside of weiss beers, knowing that this was intentionally and well incorporated I welcomed it. I love the feel, and like the entire profile, just wish the nose was more vibrant and taste was a tad more powerful.
