What can I say, $5 growler fill!

A- Dark black with dark brown edges. Head extremely bubbly and 3 fingers thick, Recedes leaving behind sticky lacing.

S- Coffee, leather, smokiness, some bitter chocolate.

T- Smoke, creamy milk chocolate, roasted coffee, some smoked meat, bitter finish.

M- Creamy mouthfeel, vibrant carbonation, not heavy or chewy.

D- I don't typically find this style to be a session beer, but this one is light enough, and the etoh doesn't make itself well known, that I could enjoy several of these in a sitting.

4 oz tasting glass

Dark brown black. Creamy thick head. Sweet and roasty smell. Brief wave of hop bitterness gives way to rich roasty malt. Very smooth. Not much in the way of chocolate. Hmm, is that a sour note, like in a Guinness? Could it be lactose? I dunno. Anyways, ridiculously smooth. Bold enough presence to be flavorful at the end of the meal and at the end of the tasters (the stout always gets the toughest job since it's usually tasted last, after all the lighter colored beers in a taster set). Excellent stout for newbies.

This beer pours a thick oily black with a dark brown head. The head fades slowly leaving a decent lacing. It smells strongly of coffee and roasted amlts. It has hints of chocolate as well. The coffee aroma is dominate though. It tastes strongly of coffee. It has a slight caramel taste also. As it gets warm, the hop presence is more detectable. This beer is well balanced. It is quite smooth. It is porbably one of the most aggressive Oatmeal Stouts I have had. It leaves a strong coffee aftertaste on the palate. I think this beer would make a good session beer. I dont know the alcohol content, but I had a pitcher, and I was ok. Also, the taste, while aggressive, is not overly aggressive. Ultimately, I think it was a good beer. It has made me think twice about the quality of beers that come from Coronade Brewing Company. If you ever get the chance, you neer to try this one.

A- deep brown, near black, under a 1 finger tan crown with decent retent, clinging thick film tan lacing

S- roasted malts and chocolate

T- lots of roasted flavors, malty, lots of chocolate, coffee, nothing complex but tasty

M- medium body, creamy and smooth, lingering aftertaste

D- simple and tasty stout, definitely worth not neglecting

wish more American brewers would spend more time making a solid stout, as opposed to a hoppier beer than the next brewer
