Bottled 6/9/16; drank 7/24/16 @ the Yarchives.

Cloudy orange appearance.

A rough pour yielded a nice off-white head; strong lace.

Grapefruit, peach & booze heat notes in the nose.

Medium mouthfeel.

Grapefruit & peach flavors up front; booze heat notes on the finish.

Fairly simple & drinkable, but the sweetness & alcohol heat are not idea.

22 oz bottle. Pours clear copper gold with a big creamy off white head that retains well and laces the glass.

The aroma is sweet bready honey malt with light floral piney hops.

The flavor is very sweet honey bready malt with some fruit and big slightly harsh spicy floral hop finish. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with smooth carbonation.

Overall, it's a bit too sweet with reserved hop flavors.

Aroma is fruit/light citrus, malts and spicy/alcohol. The flavor is grapefruit, caramel malts, very slightly nutty and a mix of spicy, bitter and big alcohol/warming in the finish.

Drinked one week a go, bottle... look: clear amber not so clear with a white, fine and quite persistent head... aromas: tropical fruit, resin, pine, citrus... mouth: nice body, rich of malt and fruit flavor mixed with hops, very well balanced... dry and clean drink, great beer although it looks more like an IPA that a DIPA

Good DIPA. Would have been even better if I had drank it a few months earlier!!!!! 12 oz bottle poured into a pint glass. Pours a hazy amber/yellow color with a medium size foamy white head. Good head retention and thick bands of foamy white lacing. Aroma and flavor are mostly citrus hops with a little pine hops flavor, Caramel malt balances out the hops flavor and aroma. I'm sure the hops profile would be even sharper and more bitter if the beer was fresh. Mouthfeel is crisp with a good amount of bitterness. Very enjoyable but probably sampled a few months later than the ideal.

Pours a three finger white head that fades slowly leaving a good lace. Almost clear light amber color. Light-medium carbonation and medium bodied. Grapefruit hop nose and flavor is a nice balance of grapefruit hops and caramel malt. Higher ABV is hidden. $3.70 for a 12oz bottle from Colonial Spirits Acton, Ma.

22oz bottle - 20 years, eh? Not yet legal to drink in those United States!

This beer pours a clear, bright medium copper amber colour, with one fat finger of puffy, loosely foamy, and bubbly off-white head, which leaves some random eroding limestone cliff lace around the glass as things quickly sink away.

It smells of dank pine resin, some edgy orange, white grapefruit, and melon fruitiness, crackery and grainy caramel malt, a bit of scallion acerbity, and further leafy, weedy, and floral green hop bitters. The taste is bready and doughy caramel malt, a touch of biscuity toffee, dusty chalk, some muddled citrus and tropical fruitiness, fading green onion notes, and more leafy, earthy, and somewhat perfumed floral hoppiness.

The bubbles are fairly benign in their quotidian frothiness, the body a solid middleweight, and mostly smooth, as those piney and citrusy hops do well enough to keep their hands inside of the windows at all times. It finishes off-dry, the base malt all grumpy about having to continually rein in all those rampaging hops.

Overall, this a fairly robust and rather enjoyable big IPA - the various specified and unspecified hops creating a miasma of fruity, vegetal, floral, and generally bitter flavours to lay atop a basic bitch maltiness. Easy enough to drink, especially given the near-invisible full 10 points of the ol' wowee sauce. Good stuff.

Picked up a single in early July from TW Arrowhead for $3.49. I believe it was bottled on 06/09/16 according to the date stamp at the foot of the bottle. Been in the beer fridge since purchase.

Beer poured golden with a smallish white head that dissipated quickly.

Nose was fresh citrus forward, very nice.

Taste was slightly off for the style. Definitely boozy up front with a slightly earthy taste with citrus lingering in the background. Slightly piney and warming in the finish.

Feel was medium bodied and smooth.

Overall I was disappointed in this beer as that earthiness up front threw things for my palate. And the booziness was a bit of a distraction for the style. At this point unless it has been refrigerated I would not purchase.

Poured from a 12oz bottle into a tulip glass.

Dark orange color-little head that fades quickly. Little to no lacing. Marmalade, grapefruit peel and malt on the nose. Taste follows the nose-on the sweet, malty side of the spectrum. Mouthfeel is adequate and fits the style. Overall decent but nothing to go out of your way for.

20 years of Coronado beer calls for a special beer. As Coronado does hops well., why not another Double IPA? From a 12 ounce bottle, on to the beer:

Half an inch of head forms on top this slightly muddy orange ale. The aroma is a festival of citrus fruits, including tangerine, mango, and mandarin orange, washed with a shot of solvent alcohol. The taste brings more mandarin orange, a kiss of grapfruit, tangerine, and while juicy, does pack a lot of noticeable booze. This all swims inside a medium-full body that is overall tasty, but also really boozy Double IPA.

This beer can be summed up very simply by both appearance, taste and smell: Orange marmelade. Really sweet for a Coronado beer even at 10%. Less bitter than most of their hoppy offerings this is a sweet hop medley of honey, orange blossoms and a twang of stone fruit. Look away if you are seeking a palate wrecking west coast IPA bitter bomb.

Lots of lace from the moderate head. The color is dark gold. Hazy.

Soft and subtle balance of pale malt and nondescript hop. Not a portend of the taste certainly.

There's an earthy flavor to the initial malt tastes. The hop is abrupt and strong entrance. It's strongest immediately after the swallow. Long lasting aftertaste. The body is neutral and the carbonation is close to the same. Overall, this is more of a hoppy DIPA with a earthy background.

On-tap 9/4/2016 at Battleship Brewhouse in Fall River, MA, served in a tulip glass.

A: The beer is a deep golden brown color, with a medium dense off-white head that fades slowly and leaves a thick lace on the glass.

S: The aroma contains fruity citrus, caramelized malts and earthy hops.

T: The taste starts out sweet with flavors of caramel and citrus. Then a hearty malt character comes in. The hops presence is earthy and mild for the style but brings a good balance. The after-taste is slightly sweet.

M: Crisp and smooth but a bit watery, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is slightly sticky.

O: Tasty, goes down dangerously easy, not too filling, well-disguised strong kick, good representation of style, this is a solid 2IPA to drink for a while.

After drinking a few bottles of this I feel this beer is on par, or extremely close to stone's Ruinten. With that being said, this is not a bad beer by any means. I guess i was just expecting something a little different. aka something like waldo's special ale ;) - meaning a unique take on a triple IPA that sets it apart from the rest. good brew though

Poured into a 16 oz Flying Dog tulip glass, not sure when was bottled, but with the source I got it and the lack of reviews, I am sure it isn't old.

Pours a murky orange with a 2 plus finger of sticky off white head.

Smell is garlic, onion, apricot, pine, sweaty socks and a little grapefruit and it isn't terrible, just unique.

Taste follows a little better, I am thinking summit hops is why it smells so much like garlic and onion, apricot , pine, not so much on the sweaty socks, with pine and grapefruit in the finish.

Mouthfeel is above medium, plenty of carbonation, not really dry, and as a fan of Gubna from OB pretty drinkable.

Overall I like this, definitely in small quantities, but a very unique DIPA.

Not sure what beer everyone else is reviewing. Maybe I was lucky to get it on tap.

L: gorgeous light amber with off white head and ample lacing.

S: OMG, like the Pliny of old... So light and piney and citrusy and floral.

T: As with the smell, I felt transported back in time to my first Pliny. Fresh, clean, hits you over the head with pine, citrus, and contradictorily subtilty.

F: extremely drinkable, clear and crisp. Went back for another and cried when I found the tap had run out.

Best I've had in a long time.

Pours a very nice looking deep burnished copper/gold color with a heady cap of white foam that laces spectacularly well and retains quite solidly as well. Semi-clear with ample streams of steadily rising carbonation visible within. High marks for what is quite a gorgeous brew.

On the nose I get a subtle grassy, piney note, some tropical fruits, mildly-apparent ethanol and crushed-up dried flowers. Hmm... a bit underwhelming to me. If I really sniff I can get a tiny bit of rindlike citrus and even some stone fruit, but I really have to focus to get much other than semi-dank/green elements, pine resin and some ripe guava. Additionally, being 10%, the fusel alcohol/boozy note in the scent can get a bit overbearing.

Malty, slick and a bit hot on the tongue with alternating notes of florals, clover honey, caramel sweetness, pine sap/resin, guava/papaya and alcohol. A bit sticky and sweet in the middle of the tongue, but dries out very quickly with a dank cut-grass aspect to the flavor. Surprised at the maltiness of this, though I probably shouldn't be... after all, it does approach "triple IPA" territory fairly closely.

Feel is on the thick side of medium with a decent dryness in the finish and solid carbonation despite the heavy-leaning body. Drinkability is actually surprisingly high for such a strong beer, and this is solid enough, but it seems like nothing particularly special. I get very little Hallertau Blanc, for instance, as it's probably being eclipsed by Mosaic (hence the piney and grassy note here). Doesn't come together as well as I'd have liked, but kind of par for the course with Coronado who, in my opinion, generally make pretty good beer but seem to have trouble standing out from the crowd in any meaningful way. Worth a drink though.

12oz bottle poured into a tulip. Pours a burnt golden with a subtle haze; fluffy off-white head that slowly falls leaving great retention and sticky lacing. The aromas are floral with subtle hints of tropical and citrus notes. Malts are present and seem to slightly outweigh the hops. The flavors are bittersweet. Lots of grapefruit with hints of lemon and lime. Slightly earthy. Subtle spicy notes. Possibly some rye or black pepper in the mix. Pine is there with some resinous notes. Subtle heat. Mouthfeel is full-bodied and slightly thin with moderate carbonation. Easy to drink.

This is a solid DIPA. I guess I was expecting something different coming from the mosaic and citra hops, but it's not bad at all.

A - Pours a crystal clear copper color, thick creamy head gives way to a mild lacing ring and carbonation.

S - Citrus, some spicy earthiness, light floral and hoey.

T - Very boozy up front and the alcohol stays throughout. Balanced all the way with biscuity malt base, some citrus and spicy citrus peel, and ends with a sharp lingering, piney bite.

M - Medium body, gentle carbonation turns creamy on the back end, very dry finish.

O - The best part of this beer is the lingering bitter finish, otherwise, shows the booze too much.

Golden amber/orange in color. Orange cream head with streaky lacing. Mostly clear, but a slight haze. Aroma is malt, bread, yeast, honey, with some orange and herbal notes. Flavor is malt forward, sweet and slightly floral, also with some hints of fruit, orange and honey. A bit of burn from the alcohol, a bit longer than I want. The mouthfeel is thick & heavy. Overall a good beer though.

Beautifully clear, deep rich golden color. One finger white head, doesn't retain against the glass much. Head dissipates quickly.

Some hop fruitiness on the nose, fairly subdued scent. Taste follows with a delicious tropical hop flavor up front. There's some citrus notes too, very tasty. Hop bitterness on the aftertaste is spot-on. Finishes dry, wish it was a little softer on the mouthfeel as the carbonation was just a little lacking. A very pleasant offering.

If you are lucky enough to see this one, snag it. You will not be disappointed.
