Tropical fruit meets tropical vibes in this “guavacated” version of our Islander IPA. Brewed with the classic West Coast combo of Centennial, Chinook and Columbus hops, this beer gets the tropical treatment with a hefty dose of fresh guava puree. The result is a surprisingly smooth, unfiltered IPA bursting with tropical goodness that’s sure to put you in that island state of mind.

Can from Jane’s. Medium golden body, hazy, soft bubbly head. Tropical juicy aroma, guava accentuates the hops. Nice feel, taste is melon, and papaya, tropical life savers. Sweet, then dries out, Chalky.

My guess before coming here was "this will be between 3.75 and 4" and it is and that's right where I will put it too. It's good, not great. The look is decent, with a OK lacing and golden hazy appearance. Smell is light but pleasant, almost like some kind of flower. The taste is the best part and is pretty nice. Guava mixes with the hops very well and it tastes very drinkable. Mouthfeel is decent. Not a bad choice for something new and some guava lovers may be in heaven drinking it (I've never been that big a fan of guava).

Pours an effervescent gold with a pinky of eggshell colored head. Average lacing & slightly better head retention
S: A little guava & mango, then pine late
T: Follows the nose, slight citrus notes as well along with bready dryness & a touch of pine up front. Dryness, pomelo, a little guava, a little grassyness once warm. Finishes dry with pomelo & more guava
MF: Medium body body, dialed back carbonation that does pick once warm, alright balance
Drinks alright, just nothing really stands out about this

from a 22oz bottle bought in San Diego, CA. 12/2018. Cannot find bottling date...
Look: into an IPA glass, it pours pale gold with a 3/4" inch bubbly white head with very good retention. the beer is perfectly clear. some lacing is observed.
Smell: citrusy, resiny hops and guava and tropical fruits. hints of bready dough.
Taste: some of the expected guava (but faint) and tropical flavors but offset by assertive bitterness. sweetness is also subdued.
Feel: medium body, texture unexpectedly rich, moderate carbonation. astringency is very light. The finish is short and dry with the only lingering element being the bitterness which clings to your palate for a while
Overall: a decent enough IPA. I like it. I wanted more Guava seeing that it is brewed with "guava puree added". Had I blind-tested this, I would not have said anything about guava. Probably just the "tropical fruit" part. Regardless its a good beer and I'm enjoying it.

Can poured into a Spiegelau IPA glass
A: Pours golden amber with a kinda creamy off white that settles to a firm layer and laces nicely.
S: Tropical, candied fruit, citrus, pine, and a touch of spice, biscuity malt, and caramel honey sweetness.
T: Tropical fruit, guava, papaya, and a little mango, resinous pine, citrus, grapefruit, lemon lime, a little spice, biscuity malt, and caramel/honey sweetness.
M: Medium body, moderate carbonation.
O: Maybe a little milder bitterness or a touch more sweetness to make the guava pop would be nice, but it's still solid.

Initial aroma was grassy and even a little harsh and then the guava kicks in and that is very nice. Sweet and tropical and fruity guava. Kind of a foamy head and a gold body.
Nice mix of flavors with the juice quieted down from the aroma and a more balanced mix of hops and fruit. A nice apparent bitterness through the drink but is never harsh. Big enough to give a shot of warmth. On thinner side of moderate.
Thanks little bro.
