Very Good
Guava IslanderGuava Islander
Notes: Tropical fruit meets tropical vibes in this “guavacated” version of our Islander IPA. Brewed with the classic West Coast combo of Centennial, Chinook and Columbus hops, this beer gets the tropical treatment with a hefty dose of fresh guava puree. The result is a surprisingly smooth, unfiltered IPA bursting with tropical goodness that’s sure to put you in that island state of mind.

Poured from a 22-ounce bottle, dated 11/26/16, a clear orange under a 1/2" thick white head which fades to the rim and leaves puzzle lace. Pungent juicy guava fruit dominate the aroma. Balanced malts and tropical fruit with a juicy note. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Finishes fruity and hoppy. Enjoyed.

Highly drinkable moderately hopped IPA. From the 32 oz growler filled today at the brewery on Morena. Pours a totally clouded amber. I have rarely seen a server blow off so much foam so it must have been the last gasp of the keg. It does taste yeasty and murky as well.

Pleasant and drinkable, however. The fruity and distinct guava flavor is tasty. Toasty malt flavor with a modest sweet note. Restrained bitterness. The sharpish fruity finish is quite refreshing. I'll have to try this again with less dregs.

A: cloudy orange to almost pink. Thin opaque small bubbles.

S: of course lots of guava juice due to the purée there's hops very little resin overrun with guava and citrus juice

T: definitely has the guava upfront citrus piss some resin in the middle to kind of balance out the fruit subtle pine on the finish rounds back out to more of that guava purée almost a mango Peel is well

F: has pretty good body to it not to worry of course again the purée house in this aspect crisp nice finish leaves a flavor of lava at the aftertaste

O: this is quite good I enjoy it but without the addition of the guava it would be a pretty decent IPA so there's quite a bit adding to it to make it better that it probably is but still very enjoyable

hazy? or murky? either way, a great tropical punch and wonderful aroma! this is probably the best Coronado i have had.... i wanted to call it borderline novelty considering they added the puree but i guess that's a 'style' these days.... slight bitterness, loads of tropical fruit..... great flavor! inflated scores, but judging on flavor rather than genuine IPA..... but i'm curious here.... still no reviews? and only 5 ratings? 1350 on Untappd. of course i prefer BA and wish everyone posted here because there is room for more description....
